If you like whales, smart female leads, awkward bumbling cuteness, and a satisfying resolution each and every episode then come on down to join the Extraordinary Attorney Woo party! This Wednesday’s episode 5 almost doubled the previous episode with an astronomical 9.128%. It’s high for any cable network, usually jTBC and tvN gets these numbers a few times a year, but for unknown cable network ENA it’s like the Detroit Lions winning the Super Bowl. I finally started the drama this week and it’s LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT. It’s good, like so so good, in every way and absolutely worth the hype. Park Eun Bin is the center of the universe that is this lovely drama and her performance the nuanced and sincere lynchpin that makes it work. This drama and its success feels like a lightning in the bottle type right cast/right director/right script/right time things that can’t be replicated so let’s just enjoy it live during its run lest we miss out on what everyone and their mothers are talking about these days.

PEB’s becoming one of my fave actresses (including those in Hollywood)! She really is super talented. To be honest, I didn’t watch Do You Like Brahmas because the storyline and posters did not appeal to me, and I didn’t know much about the leads at that time. But after EAW, I binge-watched DYLB this weekend. I also dropped TKA, so I just might give it another shot. Heck, might look for all of PEB’s past body of work lol and just be amazed with her acting skills. This is a great show, I hope the storyline and story-telling stays strong up until the last episode.
I liked Brahms, but dropped TKA but like you want to just watch her again. Yes i also hope episodes don’t falter! Bravo to all involved!
TKA is brilliant – I never liked shows where girls masquerade as boys type of genre because it’s too unbelievable that the guys and girls can’t spot the masquerade. It only works if the girl is a “butch”type but it’s never been that. HOWEVER, because PBE was brilliant, the storyline was good, OST was touching, TKA became one of my fave. I also did like PMY in SungkWan…Scandal tho. These shows are so well done.
@eleven you should watch Age of youth 1+2, Stove League (i’m not fond of sports but this one is very good ),Nothing to lose ( great cast , not the best drama but not bad at all), …she is a versatile actress and worked with good leads even if they aren’t the most popular. And an old one with Yoo Seung Ho “Operation proposal”

Park Eun Bin is sooo amazing in this! She can make the viewers feel the frustrations and emotions of the character without even saying anything. I cried when she was reading the comments about the penguin loving autistic client and just felt how different that made her feel and how misunderstood.
Very heartwarming and funny (when she can’t stop talking about whales) I am looking forward to watching it every week. Congrats to the cast and crew! Keep up the good work!

I was actually dissapointed when knowing the drama air in newbie channel, like Yoo In Shik PD is known for SBS darling.. And the writers is from The Innocent witness Movie. How can no one pick the drama? At least sbs? I was actually quite pesimistic this drama would end up unnoticed. I think them as netflix series really help boost the viewers. Now my worry dissapear completely.

I got hooked on the first 10 minutes ep 1. It just ferfect. Sometimes I kinda worries woo yoong too innocent&trustworthy towards everyone so they will take advantage of her which they do but she look at other perspective way and interesting. Relatable in what happened in daily life. It’s not all roses and nailed all the time in your life but it show how raw and it can happened, but they show something different for the ending of each episodes and deliver the warm&lovely feeling.
This is faster growth than Sky Castle (1.7% for episode 1, 7.5% for episode 5).
For Extraordinary Attorney to have an overall average ratings of at least 10%, the remaining 11 episodes should rate around 12.7%. It seems doable. Let’s see.
It’s very good and it’s bringing awareness about autism which is so much more important than buzz and ratings. I watched it with my family and we had great conversations about autism spectrum disorder and realized how little we knew about it. I Kudos to everyone involved. Also have to add the promo material for this drama has been phenomenal, just lovely.
It’s truly is a spectrum disorder. My husband is on the spectrum and he doesn’t exhibit the same behaviors as Young-Woo but we can definitely relate the awkwardness and the innocence. My husband is 37 but he’s as innocent as a child. I love this show and PEB can make a person cry like a baby.
I truly adore this drama. The latest episode just broke another record with 9.569%. It’s number one too in Korea Netflix. Am sooooo happy for its success. I’m totally hooked with the acting, writing, directing, timing etc. 100% agree with K that this is a rare jackpot with all the right ingredients.
There’s even talk of a US remake of this drama. For now, I’m intrigued with YW’s birth mother storyline and how her dad ended up being the single father raising her alone.
