MBC Wed-Thurs Drama Gold Spoon with Yook Sung Jae and Lee Jong Won is Surprisingly Good, Darker than Expected, and Presents an Genuine Existential Conundrum. — 5 Comments

  1. It’s darker than I thought. But for now, I’m interested by the rich one living in his new poor family, than the hero fighting against the rich and bad people.

  2. So glad you checked it out! It’s my new kdrama crack, so far everything just works beautifully! The unexpected darkness adds needed depth to the story and saves it from being fluff. I hope it can keep up the quality for the entire run *crossing fingers*

I also like that both boys retain the mannerism and habits from their original lives. Really hope the drama can keep up the quality for the entire run *crossing fingers*

  4. Yay!! I know I should have my own opinion on dramas and all, but it feels good when Ms. Koala confirms it for me. haha. Honestly, it’s such a shame the drama isn’t getting much attention, because I think it delivers a quality that is unexpected from its cast and premise, etc. Thematically, I think it’s great.
There’s theories around that the dads too have been golden spoon users, or there has been a birth switch with the same birthday thing and how Taeyong knows how to draw.
I know she’s supposed to be the villain, but Yeojin is so smart I don’t exactly dislike her. Did you notice how she gave the coffee can to Seungcheon as a birthday present, just to test him on his non-coffee drinking habits? She’s totally outsmarting him, especially how he used the spoon right when she sat at the same table at Taeyong’s house. lol.
Moonki is also super hot as a bodyguard.
