First Official Preview for Fox Spirit Matchmaker with Yang Mi and Gong Jun Drops Huge Cast and Dreamy Xianxia Visuals

So this ought to be airing soon (I hope) as the official preview has been released for Fox Spirit Matchmaker the Yue Hong chapter. Starring Yang Mi and Gong Jun, this chapter predominately red in color and is chock full of Tu Shan clan fox goddesses and deals with their love for mortal men and we all know those pesky human and fox spirit romance barriers. There are a lot of familiar faces in the cast and one cameo set is from Zhang Ling He and Chen Du Lung who went from their last drama My Journey to You playing mother and son to here playing star crossed lovers lol. I think Yang Mi is probably one more xianxia drama under her belt after this before she really doesn’t sell that ethereal quality as much anymore and for here all I want is sizzling OTP chemistry please please please.

  1. Too many xianxia dramas recently, makes me miss modern xianxia/fantasy dramas so much. Currently watching Parallel World. It’s pretty okay, plot is interesting enough as it’s adapted from a popular novel, but the directing and pacing have lots of room for improvement. I thought it’s gonna be another Candle in the Tomb: The Lost Caverns, but turned out to be Candle in the Tomb: The Worm Valley instead. Nothing outstanding, but still watchable. Speaking of which, it’s end September now, Candle in the Tomb: South Sea Tomb is way overdue, wonder what’s up with Tencent again.

Will still try out Fox Spirit Matchmaker when it’s released though.

    • Yes I started off really enjoying Parallel World ot was something new and different for me, since the only shows I watch of that drama are Western. It seems like after they got into the Parallel World and right after Meng Ziyi(one of my favorite actresses) role was unraveling it became hard to watch. So strange…it’s like the strong pacing and anticipation induced by the first 10 or 12 episodes slowly vanished. Well, atleast we can all agree Nini looked DAMN good.

      • Yeah I feel the same too. The relationship development of all the characters progressed so fast after entering the parallel world, it feels so weird and unreal.

  2. And not convinced about Gong Jun perf in the teaser (appears too shallow). If he is no better in the actual drama he will prove his WOH one trick pony actor statu.

    • For me he just gives media darling vibes. You know the type, a traffic actor with a nice fanbase from a BL that has an ok personality but apparently no clear strong drive for acting. Maybe we’re being too hard on him and have to wait a bit longer, idk.

    • Lol wut?

The guys are very good looking here. Yang Mi needs to call it a day with idol dramas. It seems like some Cdrama watchers are only satisfied with male leads that could pass as the female lead except for a more prominent nose…
