I feel like Liu Shi Shi tends to work in waves and right now she has A Journey to Love with Liu Yu Ning on deck and she’s adding to that with Fox Spirit Matchmaker series second installment the Zhu Ye chapter with male lead Zhang Yun Long. The Yue Hong chapters stars Yang Mi and Gong Jun and has been done filming since 2022 but still hasn’t aired while the Zhu Ye chapter has recently wrapped so we may be seeing the dramas airing closer in proximity who knows. Both dramas have big sprawling casts and for the Zhu Ye chapter the supporting cast includes Shen Yue, Wu Xuan Yi, Ding Yu Xi, Zhou Jie Qiong, Meng Zi Yi, and Zhang Ruo Nan. The Zhu Ye (bamboo leaves) chapter continues to emphasize the color green for the two leads and is so easy on the eyes.
I’m super excited for Liu Shi Shi’s comeback and for this cast! I still wonder why they picked Zhang Yun Long as the ML, but now, I just want to see him perform and turn me into his fan LOL. BTW, have you also seen the new official trailer for The Journey of Love? Sooo sooo good!
Very good looking cast! I can’t wait to see this too. Never seen the ml before but he doesn’t look bad.
How have so many main lead actors agreed to work as second leads here? That’s new for me because I gathered they really care about billing. But this is good because only working with stars who can be second billed next to you will hinder the growth of an actor.
I’m curious too, is it that big of IP, or it has famous director and screenwriter? Must have cost a lot of money to hire them for supporting roles. Just from the visual alone, it’s a must watch

There’s a notable decrease in the number of drama projects being initiated in the last couple of years due to lesser investors. Only the top actors and actresses are still able to receive male and female lead offers, the rest have difficulties finding projects let alone projects that will hire them as male and female leads. The second leads in this drama aren’t part of the pyramid top.
Seems like so, the only thing I finished watching for any of them is zhang ruonan’s my love, I remember the movie did well and it’s at top of my romance movie list. But it’s true I didn’t watch any other things she did. Probably eclipsed by the popularity of the male lead played by greg han

Ppl joked about this all-star cast. LOL. The visuals in Cdrama have been getting a bit overwhelming recently with many having their lead roles in other dramas already. I love pretty women and men in Xianxia or costume dramas. That being said, scripts and directing will mostly dictate the quality of these dramas and determine if I’ll watch or not given that none in the cast is my fave.
