Sorry there is more Lee Seon Kyun articles here than normal and honestly these are not fun to write at all. But he’s a top star and this is an evolving situation so it’s worth covering. He’s now formally under investigation as a suspect in illegal drug use, and it’s reportedly not just marijuana but additional other drugs. Also under investigation and currently detained by the police is a 29-year old woman who is basically a madam at a hostess bar (owner/manager type) who was the person blackmailing Lee Seon Kyun and he paid hundreds of thousands in USD to to buy silence. The two reportedly exchanged 10 phone calls in the last year and the blackmail stemmed from Lee Seon Kyun doing drugs with her including at her home so she had direct evidence to extort money from him. I can say this is a triple scandal – drugs, hanging out at hostess bars/doing drugs with a hostess at her home, and the blackmail. So it’s basically a combo of various male actor scandals in recent years mashed together and to K-netizens thereby exponentially worse.
Him doing drugs in her home, it not far fetched , he might have slept with her too. I hope his wife and children will be able to overcome this because from the looks of it, it going to really affect them, more than we thought.

Same, all the way. Good actor, since Coffee Prince but not my type of looks or VOICE (too baritone) and I don’t know … to me he gives off cocky vibes.
He was dubbed The Voice at that time by friends in K-community groups, Dramabeans, blogs etc etc. But, not my cuppa tea.
And people still mentioned Ju Ji Hoon’s name, which I think he did wayy less offense than LSK
Yeah, I have sympathy for Joo Ji Hood and Yoo Ah In, they did a crime, yes, but their actions didn’t affect anyone. Plus, JJH cleaned up his act later and didn’t do anything problematic anymore, as far as I know.
I’m sorry, I just can’t feel bad for Lee Sun Kyun because he did all that sh*t knowing he has a wife and kid who will definitely get affected once all this comes out…
Yoo Ah In actions did affect so many people. Films that were filmed that can’t see the light of day.
I still can watch JJH’s dramas if he stays clean from drug. Substance abuse is nothing like other crimes such as extramarital affairs and rape etc. I have more sympathy for drug addicts, not including drug dealers though.
@Somebody, I have to share a humorous incident with you.
Just yesterday whilst my hubby was having lunch at a Bistro, just sitting next to his table were 3 young graduate who just started their new job in a international tobacco company. The 3 chaps were clearly high motivated to perform their roles in the company.
All 3 took turns to really boost about their new ambitions to raise sales of tobaccos and how to promoted very quickly. Each was trying to outdo each other. It was a very interesting interaction. They were rather loud thus it was not eavesdropping.
My hubby really wanted to tell them:” I recently heard a similar conversations in the park from 3 kids who want to peddlar marijuana..”
All the 3 guys were as highly motivated as these 3 chaps… Both sets of 3 from different background, different class and different status but all trying to sell as much drugs as possible.
So all 6 are effectively drug dealers but just different types of drugs.
Such a dirty guy… I will be surprised his wife still sleeps in same room with him.

I was just watching TransSiberian Pathfinders with him and Kim Nam Gil. They always mentioned Ha jung Woo, looks like he is also friends to him.Hoping no other names will be attached to this scandal.
Ha jung Woo also does drugs. So if HJW gets dragged into this eventually, I won’t be surprised. He was suspected of propofol misused previously iirc, and YAI also propofol, which ballooned into all other drugs and now LSK.
I hope KNG is not involved in any drugs. He seems so clean.. sigh. I don’t feel any loss for LSK bcos I never liked him anyway. His voice and hooded eyes always feels kinda suspicious..
Thing is, I don’t hate him. I don’t find him dirty, yet. All those speculations he slept with her, do you sleep with your drug dealer? I dont know and I won’t imply. I just hope he gets thru this and kick his addiction for his family and be better. Rather than news of assaults and creepy power play or prostitution and what nots, so far he only uses the drugs on himself. It isn’t the worst. But I’m mentally prepared for more allegations.

I’m still hoping (however unlikely it might be realistically speaking) that he didn’t actually cheat on his wife to add to accusations the drug abuse and stuff. Hoping he hasn’t done any extramarital affairs aside from drug use. It would absolutely devastate his wife and family if so. I am naively hoping for this, even if it seems most likely, and I’m not even a fan of his.

The eerie thing is that his fate was predicted by a fortune reader years earlier. When shown his photo, she said she could see with handcuff and losing everything in a day. Such accurate prediction.
I like him as an actor, not for his off-screen personality. But its devastating because he really brought Park Dong Hoon to life and never have I thought that he’s doing drug and probably cheating on his wife. I feel bad for his family most of all.

Tbh the only things that affect my immersion into actors’ films and shows is if they were involved in serious crimes like rape, sa, murder, etc. Or if they’re racist or bigoted. Drug abuse doesn’t make me drop their stuff, it mostly makes me pity them tbh. I don’t “stan” them I prefer to just be a viewer. What will be worse for him tho will be if he were a cheater as well as an addict, because he would have destroyed his whole life just for an artificial high. Sad and pathetic.
I know that people are going to trough rocks , i previously said that i feel sorry for his family and i still do , but how can a wife not get a hint that his husband isn’t the same as usual , taking drugs, going out often, can make one being suspicious . I’m a person who is very suspicious so i was wondering . Don’t get me wrong .
He probably is busy/away often filming. It’s one thing if he works a normal office job where he’s expected to be home around the same time. But filming schedules are not necessarily consistent. He’s a good actor, so maybe he just puts on a good act in front of his wife and family as well.
Good point, it’s true that some couples are apart when one is filming away . It happened that it was a cause of divorce of many celebrities in Hollywood . But Jennifer Gardner lived with Ben Affleck’s addictions, he couldn’t hide it . So…
I think Ben Affleck was an alcoholic, which I feel like is harder to hide. There are lots of high functioning drug abusers, depending on what substance they use is and how addicted they are.

Totally agree with you, it’s hard to speculate what’s going on in the one couple’s life . But i feel for her if she didn’t know or couldn’t persuade him because she is an actress too and will be unfairly cast out of offers when she just finished a good drama ” Not others” , it’s an actress that i like ( Misty, WWW search,…) i find her acting effortless and she is very charismatic .

I am so devastated by this news, I liked him since CP, one of the k/c dramas that made me obsessed with watching them. I got disillusioned by the hypocritical knetizens after they attached Yoon Eun Hye and made her leave the industry really, but am glad she’s happy now and out of it. I don’t understand how they can vilify someone for doing drugs like this, they are not murdering or abusing anyone but themselves, as an american i truly don’t understand this. RIP LSK anyways, and sorry for his family going through this. I wish he could have found the courage to ignore it and let it pass!!!

Hi My friend @emchi, i miss you , we used to talk about our dear Yoon Eun Hye and it’s sad that we meet again over this unthinkable news . I miss the old times . I ‘m still watching kdramas 15 years ago i thought that it was a clean entertainment world but very quickly i saw that all was fake . It’s the same as in other countries . The difference is that in Hollywood, France, Great Britain ,…there is less hypocrisy . K entertainment make me think of The golden era of Hollywood when the Louis B Mayer, Warner Brothers, Fox studios, Columbia,….used to control all their actors with slave contracts, feed them with strong medecines , and put all under the carpet to maintain a clean and glamourous image… I watch the dramas as i watch any other production from another country !
