Watching C-drama producer and top shelf slimeball Yu Zheng work is like watching the Big Bad in a Bond movie so openly plotting and then wondering why the grand plan didn’t work out. This fall’s period C-drama Scent of Time starring Zhou Ye and Wang Xing Yue didn’t do much for either lead’s buzz or career but was supposed to launch the career of second female lead Zhao Qing under Yu Zheng’s crafted trajectory. Unfortunately for them it backfired and Zhao Qing not only didn’t get a breakout she got lots of negative feedback from looks to acting to charisma (basically none for all three). She is wrapping up a new lower budgeted C-drama where she plays the female lead and Yu Zheng shared new stills of her while writing a long speech about how Zhao Qing plans to start from scratch with maid roles after this and not do anymore female lead until she earns cred, and she also plans to lose weight until she’s around 90 pounds and can go toe to toe with the skinniest C-actresses. Yu Zheng asked fans if they will wait and see her transformation and give her a second chance. Man, he’s trying SO HARD with this girl lol it’s kinda embarrassing for her. Like Regina said in Mean Girls “Stop trying to make fetch happen. It’s not going to happen!”
I am most disturbed that he wants to starve her like this. Toxic man.
Her expression in these pictures seems to be the same to me. No variety. Wouldn’t his grand plan with her work better showing diffrent emotions? Poor selected pictures.
I do pity the girl for all that he’s saying about her and hope she stays sane and healthy through his planed transformation for her.
I agree – she has a generic look, nothing unique about her. She will find it hard to stand out in a sea full of similar faces.
Bai Lu might be accused of being tomboyish, but she has unique looks, unique voice and is charming. These were to her advantage in making her a leading lady.
She looks lovely at this weight. I hope she doesn’t follow his advice and starve herself to 90lbs.
This guy…He just need to silently support her if he thinks she’s got what it takes to be a star. If she’s good then she’ll get recognize for it. It’s like he’s thrown her in with a pack of wolves and hoping that she can survive unscathed.

Yu Zheng is the biggest joke in his agency. That guy is infamous for plagiarism and his so-called biggest success Story of Yanxi Palace is directed, scripted and filmed by other people.
Yet Bailu’s crazy fans claim she got no backing. Literally girl started off in leads and got great project. Untouchable Lovers” to me was the project written specifically to elevate her. It’s just annoying when fans claim, their bias got no backing and their fame was all done through hard work and talent by the artist alone & then go on and continue bashing the company that represent them. That being said, Bailu very does have an appeal and one of the few w/ better acting among her peers.
Hey hear me out – I’m a huge Bai Lu fan and I’d like to think that I’m not crazy lol.
I find that a lot of younger fans online tend to go way overboard with their stanning and can sometimes sound cocky. I really hope it just comes from a place of being proud of their favourite actors and actresses.
How I feel about Bai Lu’s success is not unique to only her – most famous entertainers have similar stories but since we are talking Bai Lu specially here:
She doesn’t have a prestigious educational background – technical college, no theater academy.
Didn’t come from a rich family, no connection inside the entertainment industry.
Isn’t signed to a well liked management company with a good reputation (my gosh I hate Yu Zheng). It’s easy for her to lead in house productions in the beginning of her career as her company literally funded the projects to promote their own artists, but it says a lot that she hasn’t been in much Huanyu film productions in recent year (none after Song of Youth which was filmed in 2020).
What Yu Zheng did for Bai Lu in the beginning is similar to what he’s doing for Zhao Qing here but clearly it’s not working out for her as she doesn’t currently have the acting chops to back her up.
I’ve been a fan of Bai Lu since 2019 and I remember in 2020 I felt like perhaps she wasn’t going to make it big as she had A LOT of haters and her fan base wasn’t established or big enough to protect her. With the exception of Love is Sweet, her 2020 projects were not too promising. There was a while she wasn’t filming much either. She also had really bad fashion resources and still didn’t have any endorsements yet.
Her company might have gotten her into key projects that pivoted her career into a good path (Keep Running, OaO + FaE), but she continues to nourish and network herself as she’s clearly not getting work by the merit of Yu Zheng’s name lol.
I watched this actress in “Scent of Times” and she was not very impressive. She lacks the likable or charming quality of a female lead actress. She won’t make it very far and I hate to say that.
Yu Zheng never knows when to keep his mouth shut. He never understands sometimes less is more. He’s doing her no favors by posting something so ridiculous and will just garner her more hate.
I agree that the biggest flaw of the man is not knowing when to keep his mouth shut. I’m sure many others who interact with him would agree as well.
Is this the girl that apparently Xu Kai got “caught dating” with or something? Lol. All his fans knew it was a set up. He keeps using Xu Kai to boost his other actors/actresses. There’s rumors about this being the reason why in Snow Eagle Lord the side cast all of a sudden got more focus than the leads. I don’t know if he has that much power though. I didn’t look too into it.
Xu Kai needs to leave by contract’s end though and escape this man.
Dude’s dramas, regardless of opinions on them, consistently get high million views (let’s face it, if he wasn’t pulling in numbers he wouldn’t be getting back to back dramas, let alone become the new WeTV ambassador). Haters can go at him and his dramas however they like, but he has the highest Yunhe views amongst 95 actors at an impressive 16.18 billion views, with every single drama of his averaging no less than 10 million views per episode, during average time and hot period. He’s riddled with endorsements (especially after Wonderland of Love). He just doesn’t play into the deceit of buying and manipulating to get the buzz of traffic celebrities. Hell, Falling Into Your Smile is still doing well overseas.
No company will say no to him. Hope he makes the right decision when the time comes.
I think Xu Kai is firmly in Yu zheng’s hands because of his domestic violence scandal. It was a very vague one I still am not sure who to believe (as far as I know he did commit to fighting with his gf). So I guess he can be used for these tactics. Compared to Bai Lu, he has mostly done Yu Zheng’s own dramas and some of which were very mediocre. Only now he is getting other offers with actors outside his company. He is still a big star but didn’t make it as big as Bai Lu. I think he can only get out when his contract expires. Song Wei Long was in fact getting better roles and work than him when he was with Yu zheng but he halted SWL’s work too, good that he left.
That domestic violence scandal wasn’t true, and in fact, there was a video released where it was actually Xu Kai being bitten and stuff while urging her friends to make him kneel (it’s on Bilibili…I don’tknow if I can post links here). The girl is rather unhinged. The ex-gf (named Daikin) was exposed for using an old injury photo that she got during work, which she said so herself in the old post when she first posted the photo of her face with a slight bruise, stating she got small injuries when she did work seriously. She reused this photo one year later to accuse Xu Kai with.
He’s BEEN cleared.
That’s why it’s barely brought up anymore aside from his haters. Not even c-netz.
All that holds him back is the contract waiting to expire. But I don’t know what he’s gonna do because I haven’t heard him speak ill of Yu Zheng or anything.
I like Xu Kai, but in recent years I haven’t been able to bring myself to watch any of his dramas whether it be because of his FL actresses, character, or storyline.
I think Xu Kai’s outstanding acting has been with Bai Lu as the fl. their chemistry is amazing and on par with Bai Lu and Luo Lunxi. I thing Arsenal Military Academy was a brilliant drama and Xu Kai’s acting in that, second to none.
