I really like this casting of the two young leads and feel like with the lack of liuliang baggage this could be a sleeper hit. Filming remains underway since late last year with period C-drama Legend of the Female General (锦月如歌 Jin Yue Ru Ge) starring Zhou Ye and Cheng Lei with both actually playing generals so it’s like a redux of Wonderland of Love but aged down. Zhou Ye may look young and too pretty but she has this fierce aura that comes through onscreen and I like her more than her actually acting strength but more on her whole package. Cheng Lei is one drama away from full breakout after mini breaking out with My Journey to You last year so this could be it.
I really enjoy this story immensely…As for these 2 leads…no so hopeful they can capture the spirit of the characters.
Will watch and see…

Loving the visuals and love both of them in their last dramas (Journey to you and Scent of Time respectively) so definitely psyched! I wish the lag for dramas creation to screening was measured in years for cdramas!
She’s soooo cute, but she can’t delivery moving emotional moments at all 😩😢 hope there are none of those in this drama about war and love lol
I’m seated. I like Zhou Ye enough as an actress, and she has definitely improved. Did not bother with MJTY but heard wonderful things about Cheng Lei. These two visuals fit the character description well. I am more worried about the script since it did away with important characters (Dr. Lin for example). Just finished the novel and what an amazing journey it was.
The novel is very good read…I have read it afew times…

While there are no billing dramas this time round, I do see some complaints from Cheng Lei fans about some changes to the novel. I hope it won’t be too excessive.
Well, the visual part is 100%. He is a good actor that we all know can generate chemistry, she is, from what I hear, also pretty good, so hopefully the director will be someone that knows his job.
She is going to mess this up 100%. Her acting is still terrible and this role needs good emotional delivery to portray this character properly. What’s the use of a pretty face then.
Did you even watch her dramas? How is she going to “mess” it up? She is a good actress, continues to improve and never disappoints. Not just a pretty face imo.
Zhou Ye is very cute and pretty but I have to agree that her acting is not that great. Hopefully this new drama will bring out a better acting from her.
I think compared to Yang Chao Yue or Esther, Zhou Ye is doing pretty good with her acting. You can definitely see that she’s improved since the first time she was in a drama. Looking forward to this!
