The Story of Pearl Girl with Zhao Lu Si and Liu Yu Ning Releases New Stills on Dragon Boat Festival

So C-dramas typically release stills on major holidays in the full year or more leading up to the premiere. Chinese Valentine’s Day is big, Lunar New Year, Mid Autumn Festival, you name it, but Dragon Boat Festival or Duan Wu Jie isn’t one that I recall getting as many drama still releases but this release for one highly anticipated drama of mine is extra cute. The Story of Pearl Girl with Zhao Lu Si and Liu Yu Ning released new stills on Dragon Boat Festival this June 10th with the female lead character’s name being Duan Yu hence the extra cuteness. This drama by all accounts will not air until 2025 and even then it might be mid-year or later so don’t be waiting for it to drop soon but there are still tons of dramas finished and on deck so I’m patient with my faves and will wait for this arrive with great fanfare next year.

  2. Zhao Lusi looks pretty in the photo. I am looking forward to watching her skills getting better, this role looks very challenging.

  3. LYN looks great! And looks younger here than in AJTL. He was giving off mature vibes in AJTL, maybe because he was like a big brother / father figure to those kids. 😂

Will watch this whenever it’s out. Hopefully it is good.

  4. Why didn’t you include Daddi in the title too?

He’s been upgraded to ‘lead star’.

There are THREE lead stars now.

Leaked script says he’s the real end game ML.

    Thank goodness for that.

Who wants to watch an ugly old uncle play ML and desecrate pretty young girls?

    • Noone knows how it ends. You keep repeating that leak you’re claiming. The source novel is not even complete. More so the script is not available to the public.

Please be normal. If C-ent is making you bitter and miserable, get another hobby instead.

      • Lmao you said what I want to say 🤣
Funny people judging something that atill take a year to air

  5. Beauty and the beast uncle lol.

Daddi Tang is here to save the day. They better give him a pay raise and not just a billing upgrade.

No wonder they had to go from 1 lead starring ML to 2.

Finally realized nobody wants to watch an ugly old man play ML.

And worse off, the Zhao Lusi’s fans fans hate Liu Yuning. Without the FL’s fan support the cp would flop and harm the drama.

Thank Jesus this drama is produced by the FL so they are able to do this more smoothly. They’re better off just editing uncle Liu Yuning out and just have Daddi as the ML

    • It seems you are obsessed, posting basically the same thing under a different name. You don’t like Liu Yuning and that is fine, buy there’s no reason to be nasty, and please leave Jesus out of this.

      • This account aims to make two fandoms fight more. And is seemingly not right in the head.

  6. I like ZLS’ looks but don’t appreciate LYN’s visuals that much. If the plot is as interesting as the Double, good for ZLS and then I’ll watch.

C-ent has to re-evaluate their high budget projects, whether it’s worth paying so much to popular actors but having trouble financing other parts of a production. I wonder why a low budge drama without liuliangs in the cast like the Double can easily beat up so many S or S+ dramas by miles (is that the way to call super high budget drama?). Perhaps production teams just didn’t have anything much left in their banks to tap after paying exorbitant compensations to leading actors. And those big names aren’t really excellent actors nor appealing enough to save their dramas given that everything else other than their fame and popularity was even not worth attention. LOL

    • @ somebody, this things r by chances, timing and a little luck. No one know how a show will be recieved unless it airs, before then we only make predictions base on certain factors to say a show might be a hit( such has big budget, production team and actors), even with that, there is a room that it might fail.
This year offerings in c ent has been honestly bad so when a show like The double, which has entertaing plot that engage the audience with all of it flaws, with good chemistry between the leads, they r going to turn in because there is not enough dramas airing at the moment that is interesting enough to divide the audience.
The fact that the double doesn’t have luilang leads doesn’t mean the leads r not know, they r actors who r know base on their previous popular shows, so they have fans who will check out their project n also a producers who is problematic so curiosity will lead audience to check the show out . I don’t think anyone expected the show to be a total flop considering how expectations was low, which is what even help for it to be recieved well.
Unfortunately for Fox spirit matchmaker, nothing worked for it , the problem started with casting, why cast so many know actors in one show, which I find uncessary, and the production team was behind love between fairy and devil,so made expectations to go high. Unfortunately we saw that nothing works for it when we finally saw the finished product, plot is boring, acting is so so, chemistry is lacking and a problematic directing, all this factors that actually make a show entertaining enough for audiences to sit through, not even one was probably done well. With how the show has flop, I wouldn’t entirely blame the actors even though their acting does not have much to talk about.
Luilangs actors bring in fans but if they lack these factors, good scripts, acting , directing n chemistry, then it will be hard for their shows to be a hit but in certain circumstances they might not have an entirely flop show either because of their fans.

    • @Somebody There are people prefer to overrate S+ productions just because their favorites perform there. Lol. It’s the reality. I don’t mention names because there’s no way to have healthy discussions here without getting to insults lol.

I have not seen Wang Xing Yue before but I am surprised by his acting level. He has good looks and stature too, I just hope he doesn’t go the route of wanting to look like a pretty boy.

  7. I am so looking forward to this. The first trailer was really interesting, and these stills look good. Lusi always delivers when it comes to acting so not worried about that, hopefully post production gives this drama justice.

  8. based on his previous drama that I have watched, Daddi acting isnt at par to both ZLS and LYN. I probably dont mind much if a better actor becomes the OTHER LEAD cast

    • Depends on the material he is given. I think Daddi can hold his own against Lusi and Liu Yunning. I recently completed his latest drama My Wife is a Thief, and although he didn’t have good material to work with, he aced his scenes turning what would’ve been a passable drama into something worth watching. I think he’s improved by miles, so has Lusi and LYN. They are actors who get better with each successive project.

      • I agree, most at time it does it depends the materials that the actors get their hands on and a good director to really level their acting and improve it.

  9. Some Of The Audience Already Knows The Ending, Dude Its Not Even Aired Yet. Hate LYN As Much As You Can. He Is Still Getting Lead Roles, Still Getting More Offers Than Your Standard Actor. Giving Back To Back Amazing OST’s. I Know You Can’t See Someone Who Is Self Made Having This Much Influence In C Entertainment…
