Streaming Platform Wavve to Release Classic Hit K-dramas in 4K Remastered Director’s Cut Starting with My Name is Kim Sam Soon

I recently wrote about the epic year that was 2005 for K-dramas with so many memorable hits and now streaming platform Wavve has found a way to commemorate and monetize older K-dramas from that era. The platform will be releasing anniversary edition director’s cut versions of classic K-dramas starting with the release of My Name is Kim Sam Soon next month on September 6th. It will be cut down to 8-episodes of 60 minutes each and for the press conference to premiere MNIKSS the two female leads Kim Sun Ah and Jung Ryeo Won will both be present. I don’t know how this shortened director’s cut will play out as but it certainly won’t ruin the original which is there is watch in all its OG state as well.

  2. Ahh one of the biggest gateway drugs to my love for Kdramas in the past. It’s hard to find this kind of LOL witty peak comedy stuff these days.

Taking recs if you guys got any. My fav in the past include: Master’s Sun, Don’t Dare to Dream, Strong Girl Bong Soon, etc

    • Mostly mainstream but here’s mine: Laughter in Waikiki, Marriage Not Dating, Fated to Love You, Live Up To Your Name, Another Miss Oh, Rooftop Prince, My Love From The Star, Princess Hours, Coffee Prince, Secret Garden, Go Back Couple, Fight for My Way, Reply 1988, Mr. Queen

      • @Ramsha, agree Modern farmer was a fun watch , back then nobody would have guessed that Honey Lee will become the actress she is now .

    • I love the attempt to bring back good old dramas. Hopefully, the cutted version is compressed rightly to capture the nostalgic vibe and cut short the outdated parts. I’d like to check it out and compare it with my memory of the original. Maybe it will be available in my region someday. I’m waiting to see which dramas will follow

  3. At last! Been waiting for this! I missed out from enjoying this at its heyday due to school, but it’s always been on my must-see-drama bucket list. Now I can enjoy it in HD^^ Listening to that song “Loveholic” in Lovely Runner really made me want to watch Kim SamSoon

  4. A classic , hard to find this kind of kdrama nowadays . Kim Sun Ah played it in such a natural way , she gained weight , no make up, poorly dressed ,…She was Sam Soon . Not every k actress is able to shed their looks for a role in a drama with no big names ! Many women were able to identify with her .

  5. I love the innocent of the past and how we werent so obsessed with good looking ppl as much,as long as the drama is fun and good we will watch it happily now it’s all good looking actors and actresses ;if they were even a bit flaw in their visual everyone will be complaining, no filters and no face smoothing just cozy drama
