Gao Zhi Ting in Talks for the Male Lead of C-drama Double Track After Chen Zhe Yuan Drops Out Due to Billing Conflict with Female Lead Yu Shi Xin
Where have I seen this show before? Oh yes, just a few months ago and with the same actor no less. Sigh, I really don’t know who is advising Chen Zhe Yuan on his casting issues but this same type of conflict is not looking good for him. The romance C-drama Double Track (Parallel Track) has been casting and was close to signing Chen Zhe Yuan to join Yu Shu Xin as the female lead. However he has since dipped from the project due to conflict with her side on billing order. Now the production is in talks with Gao Zhi Ting as the male lead, and he’s most recently in Rising with the Wind as the second male lead behind Gong Jun and is also in Northward as the second male lead. Looks like its an opportunity to level up and he should seize it.
It’s interesting to see C-ent elevating female leads to top billing based on their popularity and sponsorships / endorsement portfolios.
This is unlike Hollywood and non China other entertainment studios which always give highest salaries and top billing to male actors who have award wining achievements and less endorsement deals compared to their female counterparts.
I applaud the C-ent for doing justice to the female leads in their shows.

I haven’t read anything concerning billing issues of CZY from other Chinese site. Some of the information that koala put on her b5log are not always true so take them with a grain of salt. To get better informations on c ent and rumors, read from other sources too.
Yeah, I wonder if the conflict is really due to billing order or if people are just assuming it fell through because of his billing order controversies from before (which is why his company shouldn’t have even started those controversies). There can be any number of reasons for why someone takes or not take a job – diversifying the body of work, expecting something they wanted more to come along so didn’t want to commit, etc.

you haven’t read anything because this never happened. they make up lies or push rumors and add their own narratives as news. it’s very sickening to say the least. also sad that this is supposed to be the only ‘reliable’ outlet international fans have for c-ent news
Chinese dramas be shooting themselves in the foot with billing issues. What I like about Korean, Taiwan, and Japan is we get to see actors and actresses pair up that we dreamed of without as much drama like China. They really do miss out on opportunities with these billing issues and fan wars messiness. But it is hard to tell whether a pairing will work out because sometimes the writing and directing can screw up a decent pairing too but seriously they should find a way to fix that cause they really are not helping themselves.
I don’t think it’s remotely truth the thing with CZY’s billing because he is confirmed for one drama that will start to film very soon and there is a very strong rumour he got a drama to film after this one that he will film very soon. His name appears in every rumour of casting of any drama invoving young male leads. So I don’t think he is doing badly at all. People who do casting really put his name forward to talk about in the reunions they have.
I think people here including KP have some hate bone with ZZY so any bad rumour becomes truth for them.

Gao Zhiting have been around for a while now. He is very under-rated as a actor. I love to see him more.
CZY agreed to be the 2nd billing to Li Qin who is faaarr from Dilraba’s level. Now, to Esther. Lmao. I thought, he had learned his lesson, but if the rumors were true, he’s really something. In fact, despite the drama will be successful or not, with Esther’s name, this drama will still be a talk tho.

Tbh he is not on the level of all 3 actresses mentioned. Maybe thats why he decided to pick the drama with Zhang Jingyi as she is fairly new and his team might be able to bully her into equal or second billing. And that drama also need a new male lead as previous male lead Song Weilong was picked for a Gu Man drama so they will most likely agree to his team’s requests.

I’ll pass this drama without a second thought mainly because of Esther Yu not because of anything else. She can’t act nor has visuals. Without her rich parents’ investment, I doubt she would be able to snatch any meaty leading roles. Good for CJY to not costar with her. I wonder if he and his team really care about loosing a potential deal because of billing. Like they care? I doubt it cos repeating the same haughty but obviously dumb negotiation strategy doesn’t make sense. Is he rich and doesn’t have to make a living? LOL. There might have been some other considerations. But C net surely isn’t shy of coming up any juicy stories.

The same way they kept pushing rumors about billing issues with diliraba as confirmed facts even though that actually never happened. Czy was dropped/left the project because of major backlash from novel readers about his casting and his features not suiting the character, backlash from db’s fandom about the rumors that the script had been altered to benefit the sfl at the time (same actor from czy’s agency), and then the ongoing billing dispute with jjy. there was so much bad press around his casting that it wasn’t worth it.
Also why would he push for same billing with a top c-actress more than triple his worth and traffic while another billing dispute involving him was already ongoing, literally just common sense.

fan or not, there’s not a single word in my comment that implies any of the absolute nonsense you just came up with. “clean up his image” because of how much his reputation took a hit with all the manipulated lies pushed on him earlier in the year. “variety shows” being an outlet where one can present themselves freely with almost no restriction not a ‘community service penalty’.
