Dark and Deadly Attraction Beckons Li Qin and Chen Zhe Yuan in New Posters for C-drama Fated Hearts

This drama filmed recently so I don’t expect to see it on the small screen until 2025 but the production is very fast and generous with sharing new promos. Fated Hearts with Li Qin and Chen Zhe Yuan released new stills this week and for some reason it gives me vampire story Twilight crossed with wuxa vibes. Li Qin pulls off the lady warrior vibe but Chen Zhe Yuan is made to look very sleazy/sexy in a hedonistic way that I’m not sure his character is supposed to be conveyed based on the synopsis. Oh well, at least it captures the attention.

  2. I’m just wondering why do they pair her up with such young male leads. So far only success or not sure if it was, the wolf and joy of life series. I hope this bodes well. Or maybe that was all I could like her in and not so bad in The youth memories but lately her dramas either bored me or had terrible endings. I guess older actors are doing movies? Or just got sick of romance dramas idk 🤷🏻‍♀️ if it is due to billing issues man than China sure is missing potential pairings and possible success. I’m just speaking in general.

    • LQ is 34 and CZY is 28. A six years age gap. After reading your comment, I would’ve thought that he’s barely out of his teens and she’s an auntie if their photos weren’t also in the article and I didn’t look up their ages.

      • I know! CZY only feels young since it took awhile for him to break out and be noticed.

      • I did not mean he was in his teens it would just be nice to see same or near age pairings. That’s all I meant. However lately this has not happened as often. It is the same with older men being paired with fairly young leads too. 6 year gap but probably heavily filtered to not see the difference. The main lead is alright but I just have not felt moved by his acting lately. I guess it’s hard for me to see these two mesh well. But we will see when the time comes.

  3. I’ve read the novel and you nailed the description for CZY’s character. But they definitely made major changes to the plot based on that synopsis so I’m not sure if this vibe fits the drama.

  4. I’ve read the novel and got bored. Hopefully, there’ll be major changes in the drama. She was a warrior in battlefield but ended up fighting the palace politics. Sigh. Not to mention, the royal love quadrangle. Really, not good can come from getting involved with the royals.
