Period C-drama Yu Ting Yao with Wu Jing Yan and Chen Zhe Yuan Reportedly Finds New Investor and Will Start Filming Next Month in August with a Different Title
The Jenga pieces for the upcoming period C-drama Yu Ting Yao 御廷谣 has now been reassembled after nearly collapsing when the original investor took off after billing fights between the leads. Mango TV has reportedly stepped in to produce the drama and filming will start next month in August with leads Wu Jing Yan and Chen Zhe Yuan sharing top billing. The drama title will now be Jiang Shan Wei Pin 江山为聘 which is the title of the original source novel the drama is adapted from and it means A Kingdom as Dowry. I hope this new arrangement works for all involved and production starts as scheduled and goes smoothly.
Him, his agency, his fans all got what they wanted. What he actually deserves or has earned is an entire different story. Capitalist greed eroding all fairness and quality in C-ent.

Mangotv= sub par English translations and long waits. They churn out pretty okay dramas but man it is torture watching things and waiting when they oversee dramas.

Well, I envy Mandarin speakers because MANGOTV’s subtitles are a nightmare. I have left several dramas I was interested in because of that.
I never use those subs…but good to know. For Korean show, I like viki subs.
Just my opinion: Zhe Yuan deserves better FL
In what way? Popularity? Beauty? Talent? He doesn’t offer any of that so I don’t see the point of his fans not coming down from their cloud.

Chen Zhe Yuan, one of the reigning princes of mid visuals and mid acting at the very best, in a sea of them being pushed to the forefront by money men. LOL. Wu Jin Yan is a more than good enough female lead for him especially when you consider that he usually wants equal billing to more established and/or more popular actresses. He has been pretty successful so far with the exception of Dilraba and good for her! All these talentless puppets being shoved into our faces would not get a lead role, not in a million years, in any other industry than C-ent. But here we have them, riding hard on the coattails of their leading ladies.
The only advantage Wu Jin Yan has over Chen Zhe Yuan is star power. Her influence thanks to Yanxi Palace seems to be eternal. Take that away and she would be mid as well. She doesn’t have pretty visuals nor are her acting skills good, there is no way to create contrast with him. She plays all her characters the same and it’s boring to me.

I dont care how one of them are famous or better than the other one…I just cant imagine how awkward it would be behind the scenes now after all that chaos.
Does anyone knows if this drama has strong romance focus or not? Will they be able to manage not show it when they are filming couple scenes?!
She failed to bring the same success to KMLM. The plot was bad. While CZY has no other successful drama except for Hidden Love (he has the best chemistry with Zhao Lusi so far).
But who is the MC in the drama? She or he? Whoever being the main, should be the 1st billing.
But he dared to ask for the same billing with Dilraba was hilarious. From popularity and star power, he’s not even near Dilraba’s level. Lol
