This week there was a brief change of circumstance for C-actress Yuan Bing Yan, with her official Weibo account unbanned or unblocked after a two year period. It was banned when she got in trouble for tax evasion in 2023 and her case was investigated by the government and found to have unpaid taxes and she paid it. She had two finished dramas on deck when she got in trouble and one of the dramas Love Never Fails with Liu Xue Yi re-filed her scenes with a new actress and aired the edited drama earlier this year, so the expectation was that she was done done in the industry and not coming back. This unbanning could be a sign that she is/can make a comeback as her fans are hoping, but C-ent insiders highly doubt it. Case in point, C-actresses Angelababy and Zhang Jia Ni (Jenny Zhang) was soft banned in 2023 for attending K-popstar Lisa’s performance at the strip performance cabaret at the Crazy Horse venue in Paris, their Weibo accounts were banned for year and unbanned in 2024 a year later and it’s now been another year and do date neither actress has resumed any meaningful entertainment activities.
