Kim Hye Yoon to Step in for Nam Ji Hyun in K-drama Good Partner 2 with Jang Nara Returning
Legal K-drama Good Partner was a big win last year in K-drama land even when it finished there was talk of a second season. Good Partner 2 is for sure happening now but with a change in one of the lead actresses. Kim Hye Yoon will be taking over for Nam Ji Hyun who is not returning for GP2, so likely Kim Hye Yoon will play a new younger attorney character at the firm. This is one of the rare equal on all front swaps for me, neither a step up or down, and there will be continuity as well with Jang Nara confirmed to return. On the male lead side, Kim Jun Han will also not return but P.O. will. As the main cast for GP2 gets ironed out, I expect the drama at the earliest to air in early spring of 2026.
This is a sure-shot ratings hit. I hope NJH can cameo. Watching all three together would be such a treat. I love all three actresses.
Can’t they get rid of PO? He was so useless in the first season.
Kim Hyeyoon has always been recognized for her acting skills and has won awards for different genres, but I feel like the romantic comedy truly seems to be her lucky charm. Even after a year, people are still talking about Lovely Runner, and it keeps showing up in variety shows and fan discussions, and when it comes to popularity votes, this couple still wins!
I like that she’s taking on a totally new challenge as an attorney in her upcoming drama with Jang Nara. Can’t wait to see another side of her acting.
When I first saw her on Extraordinary you I feel like she’s got that star quality and this really likeable vibe. Honestly, her former leading men and even her second male lead should be thanking her for getting all this big projects after working with her cos her charm is part of why those past dramas became a hit. I guess it is much slower for actresses to achieve top star level while actors just have to have good abs to gain a huge following.
Why PO? He’s so bad at acting, he has no charisma and was really the worst part of season 1. They could have done without the romance.

It’s kinda sad for KJH because his friendship with KN was nice to watch.
I feel this is just a great opportunity for hye yoon to broaden her range although she has shown versatility injer past project. This is just like adding another gem to her filmatography. The scripts which she chooses actually shows that she is serious about it and that is commendable. I mean rom com horror crimson caper thriller and a legal drama in 1 yr is just commendable at its best. I hope all her projects get success
