49 Days Episodes 1-2 Recap — 12 Comments

  1. Thanks ockoala for this recap! 🙂 I look forward to your recap of the next episode.

Btw, JIW’s sitting at the rooftop at night time scene reminds me of the opening scene of J-drama “God, give Me more Time” or “Precious Time”. In that J-drama, Takeshi Kaneshiro’s character was also sitting at a rooftop at night time. His voiceover at that scene made me think his character is about to die soon…Is there an association between rooftop at night time and death? This is interesting…;-)

  2. I’ll stay on for more because JIW is ridiculously hot as Reaper Boy and I’m shallow. And going to hell, apparently. 😎

  3. 49 Days has laid a (little bit shaky) foundation for what could turn into a really great story. I really hope that Jung Il-woo sticks around to keep things lively (wouldn’t it be an awesome turn of events if HE falls for someone?? *cough like me cough*), and the way Ji-hyun goes pushing her panic button, I think he just might. ^_^ And I like this story five million more times now that In-jung and Minho are having an affair. Is that wrong? But it makes the relationships that much more complicated and will undoubtedly make Ji-hyun grow up some, which is only to be desired.

    • i know!!! the last 5 minutes were my favorite part. i loved how it was done with the elevator waiting and flashback. call me stupid, but i didn’t expect that the reason she got into the accident was because she was in a daze after she witnessed her bf and fiance cheating on her

  4. overall, i really like this drama overall
i wasn’t disappointed by anything, except nam gyuri’s acting, which i found a little annoying
but that doesn’t bug me too much when I love the premise of this drama so much
it’s sort of like the feeling i got from dream high (a drama i loved despite its not-so-great acting because it had an engaging story)
this drama can go sooo many places…i think the reaper boy just might be YK’s dead boyfriend! maybe he got amnesia, causing him to forget all about his past.
and i’m enjoying how the love-triangle (or square) might be like for this drama. maybe kang will see the real YK at night and fall for her instead?
i want JK to get paired up with either reaper boy or Kang. I don’t want YK to pair with any of the main characters at the moment (she can have the guy who buys cigs)…her depressed state bothers me. she’s alive but dead…a zombie. cheer up!

  5. yehey!
    thanks for the recap! ^_^
i thought you might not want to recap 49 days!
well, as far the actors are concern, jung il-woo is stealing the show!
i really like how they characterize his role of the scheduler aka the hottie reaper guy!
i’m kinda annoyed at nam gyu ri’s acting, its lacking at some point and over acting at times.
but all the other cast i can say they played it well.
i did like episode 1 but episode 2 did take a notch higher.
i hope this drama continues to improve per as we go along to its episodes.
hope in the end this drama wont fail my expectations!
    til next episode 49 days!

  6. Thanks for recapping 49 days. After MP finished, I didn’t watch any new Kdrama. Also Tdrama Sunny Happiness you did recap, I cannot paticipate much…. Too busy at work and study now.

But as you are recapping this drama, I might like to watch if I can.
Wish to let you know that I am always visiting your playground althought I didn’t leave any comment.

  7. I think everyone is doing well in the first two episodes & the story is picking up. I like especially Ji Kyung in episode 2, LOL, so hillarious & she was never annoying…

  8. in order to enjoy so hyung kyung drama, You have to pay attention a little detail who has been showed on purpose. I love her drama because of that.

  9. Yay! Thanks for doing recaps for this Koala! So far this is the only drama I follow. I’m not much interested on the other other dramas playing as of today. :/

I’m totally in love with the Scheduler! ^^

  10. Thanks so much captain for this recap
i’m watching 49 days, i don’t love it but i kind of like it, so i guess i’ll stick to it.
JIW is by far the best of it (and the hottest ;)), i only wish he gets more screen time. and i like han kang too (cause he looks so handsome and he was the only thing i enjoy in Only You, so i’ll give him a chance)
Nam Gyu Ri is lke a wax doll, but since she died and is the only chance to see JIW, well, i like her better (shallow me!!!)
waiting for your next recap and still keeping faith in 49 days 😉
