Like any hit entertainment product once it’s done the hype and buzz gradually dies down and to capitalize on it one needs to move fast. Disney+ produced superhero K-drama Moving was the big hit of last summer and carried that momentum for a few more months as viewers heard the reviews and binged in through year end. Disney+ subscribers went … Continue reading →
Small cable network ENA hit a homerun two years ago with Extraordinary Attorney Woo dealing with autism and now it’s back with a high profile drama Dear Hyeri dealing with multiple personality disorder. Female lead Shin Hye Sun is cold and capable TV announcer Eun Ho with a separate personality of positive and energetic Hyeri. Shin Hye Sun absolutely can … Continue reading →
Small cable network ENA remains a gem in terms of underrated surprises, it’s not consistently delivering winners but is always worth checking out when a new drama premieres and the premise is up my alley. I’m locked in for the November 2024 release of Drunken Romance because I adore leads Kim Se Jung and Lee Jong Won, and bonus points … Continue reading →
A new casting update from a big name K-drama actor as Lee Jong Seok may be signed on for his next project. Industry news says he’s in talks for the K-drama Seochodong (literal title) which is a legal drama. He will play a lawyer which he’s done before in both Big Mouse and While You Were Sleeping but those were … Continue reading →
Oooh this is a promising casting and pairing. I may have found K-pop star Jisoo of Blackpink maybe too inexperienced to immediately lead a K-drama in her first outing in Snowdrop but she was better than I expected and had potential. She’s coming back on the small screen with the romance drama Monthly Boyfriend, her casting has been confirmed for … Continue reading →
So apparently I do have my limited for watching two stars I love in a genre I love if the story and characters are just that frustrating. Such is the case for Love Next Door with Jung Hae In and Jung So Min which hit midway in airing this weekend, with ratings hitting new lows of 3% on Saturday’s episode … Continue reading →
So there is another underrated K-drama that reminds me a lot of the tense and twisty Train when I saw the promos. MBC Fri-Sat drama Black Out (Snow White Must Die) has been the little drama that could in the competitive weekend landscape, premiering to a measly 2.8% but increasing in ratings and racking up strong word of mouth. The … Continue reading →
There is a new casting out of K-ent and now we have three male lead level actors added to the superhero fantasy K-drama Twelve. Seo In Guk joins already cast Ma Dong Seok and Ji Chang Wook as the drama keeps adding to the main cast of Twelve, which represent twelve people with superhuman skills that correspond to the twelve … Continue reading →
So this drama actually sounds interesting in that it’s ripe for a lot of sexual innuendo jokes coupled with a more low brow countryside setting. The next jTBC weekend drama is A Virtuous Business with a very strong cast of Kim So Yeon, Yeon Woo Jin, Kim Sung Ryung, Kim Sun Young, and Lee Se Hee. The drama is set … Continue reading →
I fully plan to watch tvN Mon-Tues rom-com No Gain No Love with Shin Mina and Kim Young Dae, just haven’t had time to start yet. Early reviews have been good so far, and seems like polarizing than same network different time slot rom-com Love Next Door which has stronger feelings either way of loving or disliking it. No Gain … Continue reading →
So the South Korean conservative culture remains strong despite in modern times divorce being more and more acceptable and even adultery being decriminalized. SBS Fri-Sat night legal drama Good Partner dealing with a family law firm started off very strong with increasing ratings each week up to a high of 17%. But the last three episodes dropped and is now … Continue reading →
If Song Kang is the son of Netflix then maybe Go Min Si is becoming the daughter of Netflix on her own sweet time. It’s been a stellar summer for the actress as she has been in back-to-back Netflix K-drama hits, with Sweet Home 3 in July and now thriller The Frog in August. She was always great in SH … Continue reading →
There are a ton more stills released this week for upcoming SBS Fri-Sat fantasy legal drama The Judge From Hell. Female lead Park Shin Hye plays a Judge who gets her body taken over by a demon who is using her position to track down wrongdoers to send the person to hell. Her foil and likely partner in crime may … Continue reading →
