Good lord have we arrived at a point in K-drama land where someone thinks it not going a good idea to plagerize, its good to do it in mass quantities? Lately I’ve noticed that most dramas have at most 3 official posters for the drama, some even make do with 2 and call it a day. I’ve written about drama … Continue reading →
Yay, another teaser for upcoming fantasy sageuk Gu Family Book dropped, this time with more of the younger generation leads Lee Seung Gi, Suzy, Yoo Yeon Suk, and Lee Yoo Bi. But where is Sung Joon! Where is the bodyguard with with the crush on Suzy? I protest the the lack of Sung Joon so far in the promos. After … Continue reading →
Now that the men of Bu Bu Jing Qing (the sorta sequel to the time-traveling Qing dynasty drama Bu Bu Jing Xin) have been revealed to the world, it’s time for the ladies of the drama to be unveiled. I thought the cast of ladies in BBJX did a fantastic job all-around and were memorable in their own ways, even if … Continue reading →
This drama owns me. I was curious how the shipping wars currently broke down for King Flower, whether there is an even divide between fans who adore James Wen‘s rough-and-tumble lunkhead oppa Guan Jun, or were won over by emotionally battered but clinging on to a lifeline Terry played by Chris Wu. After spending an afternoon at the drama’s BBS … Continue reading →
Yoon Eun Hye is one of the CF queens of Korean entertainment and in a cute case of real life imitating dramas, she’s just been picked by MAC as the face of its new line of mineral lip sticks launching in Korea this Spring. The reason I say its real life imitating fiction is something that folks who watched Missing … Continue reading →
I was going through my pictures this week and I came across this picture above from the pre-premiere press conference for the cast of King Flower. Either it was just a major coincidence or the cast knows something I don’t, because the two couple posing above is the very ending I am angling for. If I don’t get my ending … Continue reading →
Heck if this isn’t the perfect antidote to the recent spate of bad news and blergh drama offerings out of Korea – Taecyeon of 2PM and his international edition We Got Married bride Gui Gui (Wu Ying Jie) did a reverse of the marriage process last week as they filmed their wedding on Jeju island after they first filmed their honeymoon … Continue reading →
I don’t know why it took over a month for So Ji Sub to release the full 14-minute MV for his first single off the latest album which so famously features Park Shin Hye and Yoo Seung Ho (as well as himself). I watched the earlier edited 5-minute version and liked it a lot. It wasn’t memorable narratively or in … Continue reading →
So, raise your hand if you almost had a heart attack when you read the heading for the post. Yeah, that was my reaction when I first heard the rumor. I wouldn’t share it unless there was a chance it’s legit, and this rumor came from the source that first revealed Rich Man, Poor Woman would be having an SP … Continue reading →
The Park Shi Hoo rape investigation continues to wallow in absurdity as it nears 7 weeks since the incident in question occurred on February 15th. There are new developments hence this post, but nothing definitive in shedding more light on whether it was rape or consensual sex. Alleged victim A’s now-former friend B has officially recanted everything she said in … Continue reading →
The latest preview is so good I’m literally shaking. So I was typing up this post when I wrote King Crack instead of King Flower (Substitute Princess). LOL, so apropos, yes? I’ve also coined a new phrase for Terry shipping – T3 otherwise known as the Team Terry Train. I love alliteration so the ship has morphed into a train. … Continue reading →
In a week or so the first quarter of 2013 will wrap up nice and tidy with many K-dramas ending just in time for new ones to arrive and herald the start of the second quarter. Normally I don’t take a temperature gauge since there is always a few dramas that interest me each period. 2013 started off promisingly enough … Continue reading →
Normally when an actor denies reports of being cast in a drama, I usually don’t find it newsworthy. But this is Moon Geun Young‘s upcoming sageuk we’re talking about, and the circumstances of this situation bears parsing through before tossing the baby out with the bathwater. News broke this morning that Ji Chang Wook had been cast as the male … Continue reading →
