Reunions stemming from fond memories are the best. Even though people have aged, with it comes an appreciation for the moment in time long ago as well as the current state. Of Louis Cha‘s famous Condors trilogy, which is really two novels and then a third one loosely connected with the first two, my least favorite is the final book … Continue reading →
I’m immensely grateful for how Flower Boy Next Door has been promoted because it gives me more goodies to squirrel away. What’s even more appealing is that so much of it involves the cast having fun behind-the-scenes and sharing it with the viewers via tweets or official BTS stills. Park Shin Hye and Yoon Si Yoon are my first OTP … Continue reading →
The boys are back! Though they aren’t boys anymore, are they? Thirteen years after they singlehandedly started the idol drama craze in Taiwan, F4 reunited at the Jiang Su STV Lunar New Year Eve extravaganza and performed two signature songs from their oeuvre “Meteor Rain” and ‘The First Time”. Between the audience sobbing in joy and myself watching with a … Continue reading →
Kim Jae Wook! Woo hoo, what a sight for sore eyes. This edgy and talented actor-rocker has been dutifully serving his mandatory military service for nearly two years now and is scheduled to be released in less than two months. He enlisted shortly after finishing Mary Stayed Out All Night and releasing a short mini-album with his indie rock band … Continue reading →
So Hyun Bin has been back from military service for almost two months now and he’s still relatively low key about kick-starting his entertainment career. If there is anyone who can afford to be selective, it’s Hyun Bin. He also can pick a few of the gazillion CFs wanting him and rake in the money while the right acting project … Continue reading →
All good things must come to an end, and despite my desire for the daily comings-and-goings of Flower Boy Next Door to continue forever (more cooking classes!, more all-nighters at the PC bang!, more impromptu day trips!), it’s follow up drama on tvN has started filming already scheduled for an early March premiere. On one hand, I’m interested in Nine: … Continue reading →
Either Yu Zheng has got connections at SARFT or else he’s simply got carte blanche to do whatever he wants because his adaptation of Yun Zhong Ge just got official SARFT permission to air despite not even filmed a single frame, whereas Tangren’s drama adaptation of the prequel to YZG Da Mo Yao has finished filming 8 months ago and … Continue reading →
Woah momma was I not expecting to see these three people together in any capacity ever again. Gong Yoo, Lee Min Jung, and Suzy was in Japan together this past weekend promoting Big overseas. This crazy roller coaster ride of a drama was probably as rabid as I got last year over any drama aside from The King 2 Hearts. … Continue reading →
I said last week that Han Chae Ah had joined the upcoming fantasy sageuk Gu Family Book as the second female lead, which was actually going to conflict with other reports that she was signing on as the second female lead in the upcoming daily sageuk Gu Am Heo Jun. As of now, she’s not confirmed for Heo Jun but … Continue reading →
Already totally loving Yoon Si Yoon makes watching Flower Boy Next Door a unique experience. He’s so perfect in expressing all the nuances and quirks of energy ball Enrique Geum that I’m left just nodding my head and pointing like a proud mother at what my boy is doing. I knew he had it in him, and Me Too, Flower! … Continue reading →
Finally! A press conference where the entire cast got a memo and actually followed through on it! Instead of the sprawling cast of IRIS 2 showing up at its press conference looking like extras from the Muppets movie, everyone donned their favorite sleek, chic, black-and-white ensemble to varying degrees of success. Yes, the whole spies and baddies always wear black … Continue reading →
Song Hye Kyo may leave me rather cold when I watch her act, but its undeniable that her star continues to rise and her beauty improves with time. Because I have this guilty pleasure love of Autumn in My Heart (a drama I’m sure she’d like to wipe off her resume since all she did was cry and act sick … Continue reading →
Hu Ge and Liu Shi Shi, both belonging to the same agency/production company Tangren, are fast approaching legendary status for one hilarious quirk – they have starred in 9 dramas together and have never been the OTP. They have been siblings, in-laws, fiancees who don’t end up getting married, first loves that don’t end up together, anything and everything except … Continue reading →
