Ring Ring Bell was so so beyond stupid, but I still fondly remember it for all the positive things it got right. It was lovely in that slightly dreamy romantic way, leads Janine Chang and Peter Ho looked delicious together and had combustible chemistry, and the OST was stellar. Too bad the story was atrocious, rendering all that great lead … Continue reading →
For the first time ever, I’m more interested in a K-drama for its child cast than adult one. Which is a good thing, because the upcoming 32-episode MBC weekend drama May Queen appears to have a expansive child cast that will likely take up multiple episodes worth of setting the stage for the adult story. I’ve been a fan of Kim … Continue reading →
What’s Gong Yoo doing with a frying pan? You’ll have to wait until episode 11 of Big to see, but the teaser stills released by KBS show us that he’s not intending to bean an intruder with it. I’ve always loved couples who fall in love when not trying and simply spending time together doing normal things. Not necessarily hating … Continue reading →
What can I say? Gorgeous is as gorgeous does. Ariel Lin pairing with Kim Bum for Eichitoo is the sort of dream I used to think only happened in an alternate universe. Eichitoo released a boatload of pictures of Ariel and Bummie gamely and glamorously modeling their wares. After watching the BTS videos and sneak peaks at the CF, I’m … Continue reading →
When I wrote about the upcoming C-drama SOP Queen with Chen Qiao En and Hans Zhang last week, I was surprised it garnered so much interest, with folks wanting to know when it’ll air. I thought towards the end of the year, but lo and behold, this drama just got kicked up the roster and will air next week following the … Continue reading →
Kyaaaaa~ I can’t believe there are only six more episodes of Big left! How come KBS gave Bridal Mask an extension and can’t do the same for wuri Big? Yeah yeah, ratings schmatings. Ratings are pffffft in my eyes, as long as the drama makes my heart sing, then I’ll shower it with my love. The picture above is part … Continue reading →
The first stills are out of Park Shin Hye in the KBS drama special Don’t Worry I’m a Ghost. She looks so adorable it just makes me even more curious about how this drama will turn into. Something quirky and fun? Bong Tae Kyu is a great choice to play the leading man since he’s hardly conventionally handsome so we’ll … Continue reading →
It’s spine tingling to consider how far we have come since that scene at the end of episode 1 of Big, when Da Ran asked in shock whether he was Kyung Joon, and her face fell when he answered yes to her question. How can I not love a drama that spends the majority of its time actually showing us … Continue reading →
Hurray for fervent prayers being answered! The cast of Best Time (the drama title for the adaptation of Tong Hua’s modern novel Secrets Hidden in Time has been changed to 最美的时光) held an open media day recently and tons of goodies were revealed. The best tidbit came from the PD who said 3 different endings for the drama are being filmed (which … Continue reading →
With A Gentleman’s Dignity in the second half of its run, SBS has the follow up weekend drama Five Fingers ready to start filming. The first script reading stills have been released and I’m liking the cast. Starring Joo Ji Hoon, Eunjung, and Ji Chang Wook, it’s a 50 episode birth secret piano playing bonanza that is part of Joo … Continue reading →
Friday comes the first big Summer C-drama offering on my radar, Tangren Entertainment‘s drama adaptation of the fantasy wuxia RPG Xuan Yuan Sword: Scar of Sky. Starring Hu Ge, Tang Yan, Liu Shi Shi, Jiang Jing Fu, Lin Geng Xin, and Guli Nezha, I went from completely uninterested in this drama to actually curious about it as the previews and … Continue reading →
My day is complete, because the written preview for episode 11 of Big is here. Thank you, KBS! One thing I like about Big (and there are plenty of things I like) is how the drama never takes steps backward. It might move ahead slowly, but the progression is linear rather than spinning in circles. Kyung Joon is working hard … Continue reading →
Just as Bridal Mask announced a four-episode extension from KBS, its follow up drama Nice Guy started filming anyways because there isn’t a drama out there that wouldn’t benefit from an additional head start. KBS released stills of the first table read of the cast of Lee Kyung Hee‘s patented melodrama mix and her first drama since Will it Snow … Continue reading →
