Any longer before announcing his post-MS comeback project and Jae Hee was about to turn into Won Bin v.2, which is not a bad thing, mind you, just makes his fans long suffering between projects. Thankfully, the uber-talented Jae Hee, after completing his military service over a year ago, has just been cast as the leading man in the upcoming weekend … Continue reading →
City Hunter, the manga of my youth, has finally arrived in the incarnation of the K-drama of my adulthood. One episode in, it resembles the original CH in concept, story, and execution about as much as a…..ah heck, screw it with the analogies, it doesn’t resemble it in the slightest. So I shall never ever compare again, and henceforth watch … Continue reading →
Oh I am in so much trouble. I knew this might happen if I decided to recap both Lie to Me and Best Love (The Greatest Love), which is once the romance started in earnest, I would have OTP-confusion and have a hard time putting one set of OTP down to recap the other. It took me a good ten … Continue reading →
My intro is going to be short, cuz y’all want that recap for episode 7, no? Yeah, I should zip it and get back to writing? LOL, trust me, I had to tear myself away from episode 7 of Best Love just to bring you a written preview for episode 8. And 7 episodes in, it’s official, Yoon Pil Joo … Continue reading →
If May was K-drama overload month, then June looks to be TW-drama’s turn to release a batch of new offerings I’ve been keeping an eye on. I’ve already posted about Material Queen premiering on June 17th and Love Keeps Going premiering on June 4th. Now it’s finally been confirmed that Hayate the Combat Butler will be airing on June 19th … Continue reading →
I have a sinking suspicion that Lie to Me is about to become the second coming of Mary Stayed Out All Night for me. A Mon-Tues drama with lower-than-expected ratings, likely a small cultish following, and will own me body and soul despite my being fully aware the script sucks, all because I love the OTP so much I can … Continue reading →
For the record: that was indeed a real kiss (in every way), and it was smokin’ hot. Best k-drama kiss of 2011 has added a new contender. What kiss, you ask? Read the recap, I say. Lie to Me hit a turning point in this episode, and it wasn’t because there was major kissage. That helped, but really it was … Continue reading →
I’m so overwhelmed with May dramas right now, which will continue into June, so I really shouldn’t be lusting after the July offerings. But I can’t help it if Heartstrings (Korean title You’ve Fallen for Me) totally charms my socks off from the story concept to the actor pairings to the early stills. MBC released the first official stills of … Continue reading →
Perhaps one of the reasons a drama slated to star two of my fave actors ends up being a dud is that the drama gods need to balance out the karma. Too much awesome from the acting pairing, hence they get saddled with a crap script. That was my story during the run of Mary Stayed Out All Night, … Continue reading →
With the end of 49 Days means that SBS is ready to premiere City Hunter in it’s slot this week. The third and final trailer has been released, as well as the first MV and song from the OST. Both this trailer and the OST MV are the most sane and thematically coherent offering from the CH production I’ve seen. I … Continue reading →
Thank you drama gods, for not forcing me to write a scathing recap about episode 5 of Lie to Me, which would have been like stabbing my heart with a thousand needles. This episode was MUCH better than the previous two episodes, and takes the drama forward in ways that suggest we are putting the very middling and mediocre set up episodes behind … Continue reading →
I felt like last week every Drunken to Love You watcher turned into an impatient voyeur as we clamored for a certain upcoming scene to arrive in episode 6. But like the proverbial double-edged sword, while we got what we wanted (still fanning myself as we speak), we also got a corresponding dose of cold water poured on our OTP. … Continue reading →
How refreshing is it for me to watch two people talk about why they like or can’t like each other, and perhaps try to work through their emotional bottlenecks together. Ae Jung really is the only person Jin can talk to about his confusion and feelings, but she’s also becoming perhaps his one true confidante. She wants nothing from him, … Continue reading →
