It’s a shame that Jeon Ji Hyun hasn’t done a K-drama in over ten years, and has made only a handful of K-movies since her career-making turn in My Sassy Girl. For a woman who doesn’t have that many projects under her belt, she’s as A-list as they come. Her latest pictorial for High Cut magazine remains us all why … Continue reading →
A couple of new pictures have been released of Jang Geun Seok and Kim Ha Neul in pre-production for their upcoming K-movie You’re My Pet. I really hope they style Seok differently, because right now he looks exactly like Kang Mu Gyul, and all I can think is “Mu Gyul is cheating on his Mae Ri – NOOOOO!” Kim Ha … Continue reading →
I loved this episode, just a remarkable feat of stringing so many developed plot points together. 49 Days continues to inch up little by little in ratings (hitting 14 today), and I would love if this drama ended close to 20, putting it alongside some of my favorite dramas which were dramas that got better episode-by-episode, with ratings that reflected … Continue reading →
I woke up this morning and knew I had better double shot my iced latte so that I can power through a busy day. After I started watching episode 1 of Best Love (also known as The Greatest Love), I realized that I forgot to order a downer shot on the side, because the added caffeine and adrenaline from watching … Continue reading →
That might look like the face of a cheerful oppa, but Kang Min Ho is no ordinary oppa, and his cheer is all for show. I think every actor should played a nuanced antagonist character at some point in his/her career. Both Bae Soo Bin and Seo Ji Hye are doing marvelous in breathing life into characters that are broken … Continue reading →
Already?!? The cast and crew of the red hot TW-drama Drunken to Love You held a wrap party yesterday night to celebrate the completion of filming. Well, I guess there goes the live-shoot component of this drama, heh. I’m thrilled it’s wrapped because this means there will be no chance the network will request an extension to milk it’s sure … Continue reading →
The cast of the upcoming MBC university-music-love drama You’ve Fallen for Me held its first script reading today, right as its predecessor drama Best Love is about to premiere. I love how studious everyone looks, and how right off the bat it feels like a more serious and thoughtful drama. Or perhaps I’m reading too much into a few pictures. … Continue reading →
49 days has six more episodes left, and I’m really curious how it’s all going to come together. Do I want it to unfurl in conventional ways that wrap up loose ends neatly, or do I want an out-of-the-box conclusion that makes me think afterwards but might not deliver the satisfaction I crave? I dunno – it’s been a pretty uneven ride … Continue reading →
[Edit: I’m adding new official newspaper photos as it becomes available] Coming across this news is like finding an ice-cream sundae complete with whip cream and a cherry on top. P-Kissers, you can all come out of the woodworks now, cuz Ha Ni and Seung Jo are back, baby! Kim Hyun Joong and Jung So Min were in Osaka yesterday for a … Continue reading →
My lord, how many people are in this drama? Or let me rephrase that, how many people are at this dang press conference? Lie to Me, which I reckon 99.9% of the people are watching solely for Yoon Eun Hye and Kang Ji Hwan, instead trotted out pretty much the entire extended cast for its press conference yesterday. That was a … Continue reading →
You can either take this as a cute cross-promotion, or a sign that Mei Le, Go, the completed-filming TW-drama with Mike He and Cyndi Wang has just gotten the stamp of approval and greenlight from CTV. There have been conflicting reports on which drama will take over the Sunny Happiness timeslot at the end of May (SH has 3 more episodes … Continue reading →
Man, I ought to get an award for my sleuthing. Remember how I told everyone that TW-drama Absolute Darling with Gu Hye Sun had secretly started filming last week? Well, GTV confirmed the news today in a small press conference, and trotted out lead actors Gu Hye Sun and, no surprise here, Jiro Wang.
Continue reading →I don’t think 49 Days is a romance-driven drama. Oh, people talk about love, but the emotion that is much more rooted in the past rather than the present. Characters are either falling out of love, rekindling the love, or trying to let go of a love. I like how the screenwriter doesn’t try to hammer home her themes and … Continue reading →
