I legit remember when this pairing and movie was announced and it seemed so exciting and then like 3 years passed by! The movie Dream was announced in 2020, took two years to film through mid-2022, and has barely any promos. Not sure why the radio silence with two top stars Park Seo Joon and IU in the lead and … Continue reading →
With the conclusion of The Glory this Friday it’s clearly time for dissection beyond the drama itself and of course there is going to be a post about Song Hye Kyo and her male lead Lee Do Hyun. The love line remains of of netizens biggest gripes in The Glory and the 14-age gap between the leads didn’t feel like … Continue reading →
I don’t know what kind of (bad) luck for the Netflix movie The Match to be now stuck in this frustrating position. The period movie chronicling an epic Go match between veteran Lee Byung Hun and youth prodigy Yoo Ah In was actually filmed at the end of 2020 and wrapped in early 2021 but in the two years since … Continue reading →
I wish Kim Sae Ron had better adult figures around her or if she does that she would listen to advice because watching her is like a slow train derailment. She’s been arrested and charged with last year’s drunk driving and recently at her court hearing tearfully begged the Judge for leniency and claimed she has changed and is under … Continue reading →
K-dramas don’t usually do well on C-site Douban with ratings, there is still a sense of country competition so C-netizens are not as generous with ratings. But some K-dramas transcend that and C-netizens openly love it and The Glory appears to hit that sweet spot. Part 2 which dropped this Friday opened with 9.4 on Douban an insanely high rating … Continue reading →
In my rattling off all the Joseon + a profession K-dramas in recent years in my first post about upcoming MBC drama Joseon Lawyer I totally forgot Joseon Exorcist. That list was not meant to be exclusive but goodness JE was a big one so big budget and cancelled after two episodes for a litany of cultural sins. Anyhoo, back … Continue reading →
Okay, the costume and hair designer of Crash Course in Romance really went out of the way to frumpy up female lead Jeon Do Yeon. And for what I still don’t understand. She could be styled hair and outfit like the above and stay play the character of Nam Heung Seon. She did not need to look like she ran … Continue reading →
It’s a tad late now in March to reflect back on last year 2022 but for the South Korean cable and major channels still trying to survive and succeed it’s crucial to note who did well, or not, and why. So after 2022 was all said and done, the biggest winner is jTBC thanks solely late comer Reborn Rich, which … Continue reading →
One of the reasons by The Glory is sooooo good is that the antagonist Park Yeon Jin played by K-actress Lim Ji Yeon is absolutely f*#king-lutely horrific. She is a sociopath in every element of the diagnosis and the actress is on fire in how she brings such a scary person to life. At the second press conference writer Kim … Continue reading →
Kyaaaaaa, it’s here! Okay, maybe not for another few hours for some of us not yet crossed into March 10th but this Friday is the global release of Part 2 of The Glory, the Netflix hit K-drama which premiered Part 1 on December 31st to end last year with a bang. I’m still on the fence over the decision to … Continue reading →
I’m thrilled to see K-actress Kim Hyo Jin back to regular acting rotation, after she married Yoo Ji Tae in 2011 she retired from the public eye for basically 8 years with sporadic smaller projects but since 202 has been back to doing like 1 drama a year. For 2023 she’s joining Park Eun Bin in the upcoming second chance … Continue reading →
I do love that Netflix produced K-dramas run a wide gamut of genre but it definitely should always do a high school age drama or movie consistently because it’s usually lower budget but has a built in audience. The streaming platform is coming out with a romance and suspense high school drama called Hierarchy and has signed on rising young … Continue reading →
K-actress Kim Sae Ron was a legit phenom when she debuted and over the last decade continued to get top projects both movie and drama and never seemed to have any indication she would do something so utterly immature, irresponsible, and illegal. She was arrested last year for drunk driving at 7 in the morning after crashing her uber luxury … Continue reading →
