Clearly female lead Son Ye Jin is all over the news right before her new drama Thirty Nine premieres on jTBC on February 16th but it doesn’t feel of promotion that she announced her marriage to Hyun Bin next month and more just squeezing in the break before the next job starts up. The drama has completed filming and will … Continue reading →
It’s truly the engagement heard ’round the world thanks to the global success of K-drama Crash Landing on You. Top Korean stars Son Ye Jin and Hyun Bin started dating in real life after filming Crash Landing and this week announced they are engaged and will get married next month in March 2022. The drama aired on tvN terrestrially in … Continue reading →
Oooooh this looks so good already! The first stills are out for the K-movie Gentlemen and male lead Joo Ji Hoon certainly looks like a streetwise version of one. The movie has Joo Ji Hoon playing a private investigator who is accused of murder and partners with female lead Choi Sung Eung to help clear his name. Choi Sung Eun … Continue reading →
Last year in 2021 there were actually quite a few decent movies and one of the biggest hits (in a pandemic impacted box office) was Escape from Mogadishu. We will never know how much money this movie would have taken in during a normal era but it was still a success and got lots of nominations and wins in the … Continue reading →
I know top Korean actor Hyun Bin and actress Son Ye Jin are legally not married yet but it was so inevitable and clearly they were prepping for it that I just filed it away mentally as they are basically married. But today they jointly announced officially that they will be getting married, huzzah! The couple has been dating since … Continue reading →
Okay this one snuck up on me but seeing all the promos and previews in one batch got me more excited I think since the cast is just so-so for me. Disney+ streaming only drama Grid (original title was Zero) starring Seo Kang Joon, Kim Ah Joong, Lee Si Young. Kim Moo Yeol, and Kim Sung Kyun drops next week … Continue reading →
It’s not easy for a K-drama promo circuit to start off with as positive a bang as MBC is doing for its upcoming fantasy drama Tomorrow but I’m just too happy bemoan why this can’t happen more frequently. The poster has the four leads Kim Hee Sun, Ro Woon, Lee Soo Hyuk, and Yoon Ji On perched at the edge … Continue reading →
It feels like the news on COVID-19 seems to have died down a bit but then everyone is testing positive the last two months due to the Omicron spike still. The latest K-stars to join the “we got it” club is top star Lee Byung Hun and his actress wife Lee Min Jung. Both are reportedly feeling fine and in … Continue reading →
Seeing the just dropped suite of drama posters for upcoming SBS romance A Business Proposal (Office Blind Date) makes it actually seem cute in a derpy way. The adherence to the webtoon visuals was clearly the marching orders and while the OTP on with Kim Se Jung and Ahn Hyo Seob looked really flat and unappealing, the rest are actually … Continue reading →
There is casting news around the K-drama remake of hit Taiwanese drama Someday or One Day that makes me happy but doesn’t obviate my earlier concerns with the previous announced casting. Rising young actor Kang Hoon, who was one of the breakout stars in The Red Sleeve Cuff playing the King’s frenemy in the political subplot, has been cast as … Continue reading →
Wow, what a wonderful mentoring and magnanimous thing to say, but so true that as time passes whatever is THE BEST will be supplanted in ways that show growth and evolution. Top actor Lee Seo Jin came back to drama land recently with a TVing streaming drama Dr. Park’s Clinic and this week he gave press interviews during which he … Continue reading →
The upcoming tvN Mon-Tues drama Military Prosecutor Doberman tried so hard to be cute to its title but it really backfired for me in luring me in. The first posters above show Ahn Bo Hyun and Jo Boa split-face with two different personas. Her other persona screams German rave party girl but his other persona is a literal doberman. It … Continue reading →
This coming weekend two new K-dramas are premiering, with Twenty Five, Twenty One on tvN and over at jTBC it’s Forecasting Love and Weather. The two dramas will not be going head-to-head, Twenty Five airs at 9:10 pm and Forecasting takes over the 10:30 pm time slot, but a K-ent reporter is noting that the two dramas have younger leading … Continue reading →
