I feel a sense of deja vu when I heard this casting news. Rising male lead Woo Do Hwan has been offered and accepted the second male lead role in screenwriter Kim Eun Sook‘s next drama the parallel worlds fantasy romance The King: Eternal Sovereign. The leads will be Lee Min Ho and Kim Go Eun, and Woo Do Hwan’s … Continue reading →
This teaser totally caught me by surprise because I didn’t realize this drama was coming so soon. tvN dropped the first teaser for supernatural Hong Sisters drama Hotel Del Luna with IU and Yeo Jin Gu in a big way by premiering it after the first episode airing of Arthdal Chronicles since it’s taking over that Sat-Sun time slot after. … Continue reading →
June 2019 kicks off in K-ent with a wedding of a top actor, with leading man Joo Jin Mo tying the knot at the age of 44 years old. He married a celebrity doctor Min Hye Yeon who is ten years younger and famous in her own right for being considered very pretty for a real life medical doctor and … Continue reading →
It felt like Pyongyong 2018 was just yesterday and I was covering all the K-stars involved with South Korea hosting its first ever Winter Olympics. Now it’s just a year away from Tokyo taking the world stage in hosting the 2020 Summer Olympics and keeping the Olympic flame in Asia for another chance to showcase the culture of East Asia. … Continue reading →
I must say, whoever is managing rapper turning actor ONE (Jung Jae Won) and his career is doing a phenomenal job. In one year I’ve seen him cast in three very smartly slotted in small but memorable roles in high profile dramas. Last year he was Cha Seung Won‘s son in fantasy sageuk Hwayugi (A Chinese Odysessy) and this month … Continue reading →
I love looking at wedding pictures, bonus for being pretty without too much posing or artificial glamour just like these. TW-actor Kimi Hsia (Hsia Yu Qiao) shared a happy surprise to start the weekend with her fans, announcing that she was married to boyfriend of three years director Tom Lin (Lin Shu Yu). The two released wedding pictures shot on … Continue reading →
I certainly hope this was indeed just a mistake but highly doubt it and am worried. K-actress Lee Yoo Young, who just finished the KBS drama My Fellow Citizens with Choi Si Won, posted an update to her SNS account of her own picture and the caption “I want to die. Every single day is like hell. I want to … Continue reading →
tvN hasn’t premiered Arthdal Chronicles yet but managed to hold both the press release media part and the drama wrap party on the same week. It’s all due to extensive pre-filming which made this drama hit the fully pre-produced mark mere days before the first episode airs on June 1st. In attendance were leads Jang Dong Gun, Kim Ji Won, … Continue reading →
There hasn’t been a sageuk on my radar in awhile, and I’m not really counting upcoming Arthdal Chronicles since it’s mining pre-written history and has fantasy elements. I’m jonesing for a classic Joseon-era sageuk with romance and the requisite amounts of period conflict. I’m warming up to summer MBC sageuk Rookie Historial Goo Hae Ryung for that reason, a craving … Continue reading →
Fans of D.O. (Do Kyung Soo) probably thought they had another three years with this baby before he shipped off to the military what with him being only 26 and all. Alas D.O. has other plans and today announced his impending military enlistment for this July 2019. He will be out in May 2021 and during his service will be … Continue reading →
Sure sure, you can quibble with me that leads Park Min Young and Kim Jae Wook didn’t start making out until episode 9 of just concluded tvN drama Her Private Life and after which they rarely came up for air. Or started a few episodes earlier when they fake kissed or imaginary kissed just as steamily onscreen as the real … Continue reading →
K-actress Park Shin Hye is channeling veteran noona actress Kim Seo Hyung in her latest Harper’s Bazaar pictorial and the result is unexpectedly awesome. I wouldn’t have pegged her to pull off this dramatic and power woman look but she does so confidently and makes it her own. Her last role in Memories of Alhambra did nothing other than run … Continue reading →
Woah, this is big potential K-drama casting news and a positive possibility for me. Song Hye Kyo and Joo Ji Hoon are reportedly offered the leads in year end KBS drama Hyena, not to be confused with the same name K-drama from 2006. This Hyena has the two leads playing legal professionals and ones that revolve around them trying to … Continue reading →
