I really don’t want to overly up a drama but I’m genuinely super excited about Descendants of the Sun. There are new stills from the drama and all I can do is squeal in delight. Even if Kim Eun Sook delivers intermittently as a screenwriter nowadays, the prospect of Song Joong Ki returning to my screen trumps everything else. If … Continue reading →
This is most excellent casting news, and certainly is a step in the right direction for me in setting the stage for Rain to comeback in a drama worth his while. Kang Sora has been confirmed as his leading lady in upcoming 2016 drama Goodbye My Beloved One. It’s the K-drama adaptation of a well known Japanese novel about a … Continue reading →
It’s great to the fierce yeoja Ha Ji Won in a new pictorial looking so sultry and confident. I wish all of that great attitude went somewhere in her last drama The Time I Loved You, which had all the makings of a great rom-com and ended up a great mess that everyone involved and audiences included would rather forget. … Continue reading →
Oooooof, are these two adorable to infinity or what? And in a direct showdown between my darling Yoo Seung Ho and his leading lady Go Ara, for this round I’d actually give the win to Ara for shining brightest at the press conference for upcoming sageuk movie The Joseon Magician (just called The Magician in the English title). The movie … Continue reading →
I love K-drama casting rumors and speculations, so much fun to muse over the possibilities, and also to wonder what happened if it didn’t pan out. Were the rumors off, or did something behind the scenes scuttle the signing. A leaked compilation of upcoming dramas and in discussion leads is making the rounds and generating lots of buzz. No way … Continue reading →
Thank goodness new TW-drama Marry Me or Not got even better, validating that this isn’t a one-episode wonder type of drama and delivering yet another fun filled hour of laughs and swoons. My eyes soak up the beautiful eye candy that is Roy Qiu and Alice Ke looking so beautiful onscreen it might be illegal, with an added layer of … Continue reading →
Heart. Broken. Okay, maybe I was just joking on that. Or maybe not, it’s hard to tell since I’m both crying and smiling at the same time upon hearing the news that my Zai Zai is married. Yes, real life married and not just cinematic married. Vic Zhou quietly tied the knot with his long time girlfriend TW-actress Reen Yu on … Continue reading →
Next year K-drama Arbitrarily Fond just turned into the mashup of a Heirs reunion with a What’s Up? with the casting of one new female lead. Im Joo Eun has been confirmed as the second female lead in the drama, which makes it the second time she’s done a drama with the similar sounding in name Im Joo Hwan, who … Continue reading →
Yes, yes, yes! Thank you drama gods for making the K-version of Bu Bu Jing Xin (Startling with Each Step) seem less like a potential trainwreck right off the bat. The production of Moon Lovers has extended an offer to Lee Jun Ki to headline as the male lead, which would be the character in the original novel and C-drama … Continue reading →
I haven’t see much of Lee Seung Gi in the media recently, likely because he’s filming the upcoming sageuk movie Marital Harmony with Shim Eun Kyung. If the story and directing is good then the movie is a likely hit since it has all the hallmarks to win the audience interest with popular leads and a cross-class border period romance. … Continue reading →
I’m waiting for a Song Hye Kyo drama that will completely make me fall in love with her, which isn’t all that hard because she’s freaking gorgeous and keeps getting prettier with age. Compared to her Hotelier and Autumn in My Heart days, the current Song Hye Kyo deserves the accolades as one of Korea’s top beauties. The latest ad … Continue reading →
I think I’m already fangirling chubby Shin Mina in upcoming KBS drama Oh My Venus. The real life super skinny actress looks sooooooo cute in a chubby suit persona, in no diss to folks who are slightly rounder in real life the way her character looks in the drama. She’s called fat at 77 kg (around 170 lbs) but I … Continue reading →
Some may think C-netizens are harsh but I find them equal opportunity snarkers. They don’t riff only on foreign things, they are just as candid when it comes to pointing out the crappy stuff coming out of China. Case in point – the C-netizens are having a lulzworthy field day with a local wax museum in Sichuan province, deeming it … Continue reading →
