So the early airing rumors last month said Legend of the Female General would be coming in Q1 2025, likely by March. But now the more concrete airing rumors say the drama has been moved up by Tencent and will now air this month in January, my guess is towards the end of the month. This may be my personal … Continue reading →
Well this is certainly some fast and decisive action on the part of C-actor Cheng Lei‘s management company. Mere days after his fans got upset that Cheng Lei’s assistant stole him thunder after leaving an event, said assistant has now been fired. This comes after fans unearthed another instance at the airport when the assistant was also dressed more eye … Continue reading →
Last weekend was the iQiyi Scream Night 2024 which is where the streaming platform gets all the drama C-stars together to present various awards all of which are based on popularity and buzz basically. So lots of celebs and a fun night vibe, and the cutest selfie out of the evening comes courtesy of actor Zeng Shun Xi. He managed … Continue reading →
Okay, talk about burying the lede here with this drama lol. Period C-drama Shadow Love (与晋长安 Yu Jing Chang An) with Song Yi and Cheng Lei just looked like a female general kicking ass and her romance with another male general/king and that was good enough for me to be interested. Then I watched the first preview was like what-tha-wut?!? … Continue reading →
It’s more and more obvious that it’s the loudest and most obnoxious fandom fans that take over the public perception of the star. C-actor Cheng Lei only in the recent year has been elevated to male lead thanks to a breakout role in My Journey to You but his fans are already getting in over their head in making demands. … Continue reading →
So Cheng Lei had a small breakout at the end of 2023 with My Journey to You and spent the next year filming C-dramas so he has two on deck for 2025 both of which I am mega looking forward to. There is of course the buzzy Legend of the Female General with Zhou Ye, but after that he filmed … Continue reading →
So we’re not going to see this drama until sometime in 2025, likely early in the year, but still it’s totally giving me I WANT THIS NOW! energy haha. Legend of the Female General with Zhou Ye and Cheng Lei released its first teaser last week and wowsers did it excite me. I knew nothing about the story but the … Continue reading →
So I thought this C-drama was on ice due to the difficulty of casting a bevy of male leads opposite Dilraba Dilmurat that she can take revenge on because each guy is a cheating asshole as she time and world hops around. The drama is titled 万花世界 (Wan Hua Shi Jie or Hundred Flower World) and is adapted from a manhwa … Continue reading →
Striking while the iron is hot is so important in entertainment whenever there is a breakout or buzz. It’s great seeing supporting actors and actresses get noticed but if one doesn’t quickly have a follow up then the momentum seems to die down fast. Cheng Lei was talked about so much after My Journey to You for his acting and … Continue reading →
I’ve been exposed to too many C-drama unannounced air drops I’m just glad a streaming C-drama isn’t a giant elephant image that dropped on us announced lol. Air drops also don’t mean the drama is sucky and the platform wants to just squirrel it away though sometimes that is the case, it really depends and some reasons are due to … Continue reading →
Well C-actor Cheng Lei certainly has parlayed his chemistry laden supporting male lead turn in My Journey to You last you into an even smexier male lead upgrade in the just finished filming period C-drama Legend of the Female Lead. With that title and top billed female lead Zhou Ye as a strong female-centric story, I’m here for Cheng Lei … Continue reading →
A new C-drama is in early casting stage but it has a pretty name and also potential leads and I like. The drama title is Green Cloud Platform adapted from the same name period romance novel set during a wartime with the leads going from enemies to lovers. The offer is out to Zhao Lu Si to be the female … Continue reading →
I really like this casting of the two young leads and feel like with the lack of liuliang baggage this could be a sleeper hit. Filming remains underway since late last year with period C-drama Legend of the Female General (锦月如歌 Jin Yue Ru Ge) starring Zhou Ye and Cheng Lei with both actually playing generals so it’s like a … Continue reading →
