Despite the recent generally lackluster offerings in the usually high profile Wed-Thurs network K-dramas, the just premiered 7th Level Civil Servant should be glad its got a 3 week head start on its upcoming rivals. Action thriller IRIS 2 premieres on February 13th and will certainly be a formidable opponent in terms of star wattage and production grandeur, but also premiering … Continue reading →
Aside from the fashion eye-candy, another good thing came out of the drama awards show in SBS releasing the first teaser of its highly anticipated melodrama That Winter, The Wind Blows. Written by famed screenwriter Noh Hee Kyung and starring Jo In Sung in his return to television after 7 years and paired with Song Hye Kyo, this one has … Continue reading →
Now that Nice Guy has wrapped up I can start anticipating the new crop of dramas coming along. Aside from Alice in Cheongdamdong, the rest of 2012 is done for me in terms of new dramas. But early 2013 brings a slew of dramas worth at least checking out, the most serious one of the bunch being That Winter, The … Continue reading →
The full cast of That Winter, The Wind Blows has been finalized and the leads with the exception of the leading lady gathered this week for an initial script reading session. Song Hye Kyo is currently in China finishing up her C-movie, but Jo In Sung, Kim Bum, and Jung Eun Ji sat down with writer Noh Hee Kyung and … Continue reading →
Now that 2012 is heading towards the end, there are really no more K-dramas left to premiere that haven’t been cast yet. Which leaves me looking into 2013 and oh boy it’s shaping up to be a doozy. First off comes the producers behind Giant and History of the Salaryman, truly talented subversive geniuses in my book, and they are … Continue reading →
I try to avoid posting about casting rumors, unless it’s something too good to be true and I need to squeal about it here otherwise I might go insane. K-news have been reporting today that THE ultimate chemistry-filled onscreen pairing might be reunited for another go around. Hopefully this time nowhere near Bali. Jo In Sung and Ha Ji Won … Continue reading →
The Korean acting industry is much like Hollywood in that its biggest movie stars rarely return to the small screen once they have transitioned successfully to a movie career. Viewers watching Korean dramas may think certain actors or actresses must be household names in Korea, it’s actually the movie stars that get all the respect and acclaim over there. October’s … Continue reading →
Lee Yeon Hee is so beautiful that it’s a shame she really is such a limited actress. She gets to act with a bevy of top K-stars, and each time I just cringe when she starts to emote. My favorite Lee Yeon Hee performance is actually her bit part in Resurrection. Sigh. She’s just been cast as the female lead … Continue reading →
When I was watching episode 1 of Spy Myung Wol today, I noticed TPTB (The Powers That Be) not only made recently released from the military Eric do the obligatory shirtless shower scene, it also made him do an even more gratuitous swimming scene. All in the same episode. Considering second male lead Lee Jin Wook is also freshly six-packed … Continue reading →
The original flavor flower boy, though I should perhaps call him flower man now that he’s completed his military service, has been released from MS for all of less than two weeks, and he’s probably done more than I do in half a year. Jo In Sung‘s first post-MS CF is already out, and he’s going James Bond suave to … Continue reading →
These series of mise-en-scene CFs may just be one of the best K-drama inspired couples CFs I’ve ever seen. From the concept to the execution, everything was perfectly tailored for the couple in question – Ha Ji Won and Jo In Sung, who had just come off a sizzling onscreen turn as Lee Soo Jung and Jung Jae Min in … Continue reading →
