There might be some Tang Yan overdosing coming up as a second of her highly anticipated C-dramas is about to premiere while currently one is on air. I’ve been thoroughly enjoying My Sunshine, the C-drama adaptation of the Gu Man novel Silent Separation (He Yi Sheng Xiao Mo 何以笙箫默) more for the college era romance played by the two younger leads than the personality lobotomized adult version with Tang Tang and Wallace Chung. It’s a pretty faithful adaptation and Wallace is gorgeous so I’m sticking with it.

Next week on Jan 27th premieres the early Republic era period drama Lady and Liar (千金女賊) starring Tang Tang, Hawick Lau, Yang Rong, and Tony Yang. Love the full cast and the drama looks visually stunning, not to mention the storyboard is cribbed from a popular oldie shoujo manga filled with stolen identities and angsty love triangles. The opening theme song MV performed by Taiwanese singer Jam Hsiao just dropped filled with tons of pretty new scenes and a great melody.
