Written Preview for Episode 7 of Big

I need a new episode of Big like a penguin need snow, like a cat needs nip, like a dog needs a bone, frankly, like a Koala needs eucalyptus. Who will save a poor Koala from perishing from want? Unless I figure out how to time-slip, I guess I have to be patient. While I don’t think the Hong Sisters have yet to end any of the aired Big episodes on insanely nailbiting cliff hangers (which they are quite good at doing), my anxiety is a more holistic one. I’m not dying to know how the last scene gets resolved, I just want more of this tale they are weaving. I don’t think any excuse will fly with Mari, so that means she knows. And with Se Young already suspecting, what will happen when more and more people know about the body switch. It’s not like anything illegal happened or any one is at fault, and really Kyung Joon probably wants to go back to his body rather than stay as a 30 year old. It’s weird that when I look at him, I see neither Gong Yoo nor Shin Won Ho. Both of them are Kyung Joon-ie to me. I see his soul, and boy am I loving his development and growth. Couple with Da Ran’s growing a spine and some sass, I finally have an OTP that hits all my sweet spots.

Written preview for episode 7:

Because he’s worried about Mari, Choong Shik goes to Yoon Jae’s house to check on her and is shocked to see the three of them together (Kyung Jae, Da Ran, and Mari). On the other hand, Yoon Jae’s mom goes to the mandoo restaurant to meet with Da Ran’s parents to glean more information about their daughter’s relationship with her son. Se Young starts to suspect the relationship between Yoon Jae, the man she wants to marry, and Kyung Joon.

  1. It took me awhile to board this train, but I am SOOOO glad I did. I’m intrigued and excited for what’s next. 🙂

  2. Oh my goodness! Now everyone is in it! But actually with the real kyung joon in a coma, we won’t really know whether it is a soul swap with yoon jjae. It is all speculation. I just love how this show is going. It is all about loving someone for who they really are.
And thank you koala for all your efforts! I love your blog and we do share similar tastes in dramas. You have introduced me to so many dramas that were amazing. Thank you so much!!

  3. I never finished Coffee Prince, but I give it a try soon, because I fell in love with Gong Yoo’s act. The writing is excellent, but without the actors I wouldn’t buy it. I truly feel the 19 year old kid, will I see it in Shin Won Ho’s body/acting as well? Only the 7th episode is on it’s way, but it feels like the 15th. What a great drama!

  4. Looking forward to the discourse that the next two episodes bring in. Over at dramabeans they had over 200 posts which I didn’t read all cause of time but you were mentioned here and there in good tone. I hope that it stays interesting as it has been so far. I too am hoping the young actor is allowed more air time. You know I love LMJ even though she seems to be portraying a naive woman (Daran) and of course the star of the show, Gong Yoo, is doing a fantastic job of portraying the soul of comatose Kang Joon (Shin). I suffered two or three Hong sister dramas cause they are good with the twists and cliffhangers and have yet to forgive them for Hong Gil Dong (the king didn’t get the girl) but will stay with this out of curiosity and I cause I am hooked.
I don’t read you for recaps, just like reading your posts. Thank you.

  5. The sad thing about this preview is *possibly* Se Young’s more active role in the drama. More screentime. More manipulative witchy witchy actions. Grrr…

I hate female 2nd leads from past Hong-Hong dramas. They always make you want to punch cute cuddly kittens with their annoying, clingy ways. Except Kang Se Ri. She was laughably harmless in Best Love (like Mari). 😀

    • mary – Usually I agree, but this one may work for us.
SY is a scientific medical doctor, so her conclusion won’t be like Mari’s.
She may go out looking at facts and find the same father link,
      and guess they are brothers….hopefully.

      • Aaah, so she can be like the vehicle for a reunion. Like test the DNA for similiarities kind of doctor…

        Ok I forgive her. 🙂

As long as she doesn’t pull the if-you-don’t-marry-me-I’ll-tell-everyone-you-have-a-secret-brother-like-it’s-a-bad-thing card.

      • Hmmm… Let’s assume, for whatever reason, YJ kept the brother a secret. Prolly the Bad Father went over to the States had an affair with KJ’s pre-mother which resulted in KJ being born.
(question: YJ’s Sad Mother ended up in the States why?)
And Bad Father never told KJ he had another family. This is why KJ doesn’t know they are related.

If SY were to threaten YJ, sure, he would be against it.
Otoh, if she went to Kyung Jae, he would be very interested in getting to the truth.

        Tangled web hurting head…
We still have that magic cherub book to be discovered, too, in the box of YJ’s things. I am guessing KJ finds it first.

  6. yeah… really2 need more information I can get on the next episode… thanks for the written preview ockoala, but maybe you can find us link on the video preview for next episode? 😉

  7. 🙂 we’ve got the most awesome dramas this season, i dare say :))) kicking the weekend off with a huge gentleman’s dignity bang, to big in soothing the monday blues, and then launching into the emo madness that is gakitsal before going back to happiness again.

nonetheless i’m glad the hong sisters removed any of the ickiness by establishing the age gap between kj and yj to be only 12 years old. YAY! cannot. stomach. da ran. with yj’s “son”.

  8. Omo.. Everyone is about to find out. I am not that happy that SY find out sooner too.. =P That means that she will cause chaos especially if she have YJ mother to back her up. Meaning that means more angsty to DR which I am not looking forward to. I do hope they bring lots of cuteness to theOTP before the angsty came forward with a bang.. Is it Monday yet better yet Is is video preview of ep 7 yet?

  9. For some reason, I’m having a hard time imagining YJ’s dad having an affair, since the whole family is memorializing KJ’s birthday. Is there any way it’s a switched-at-birth issue, and they believe the brother died at birth when really KJ just went to the wrong family? I don’t know. It just seems too coincidental that they’re getting together on KJ’s birthday, and I can’t imagine that an affair would cause YJ’s mom to memorialize the birth of her husband’s son by another woman. Perhaps they discovered the switch later, but decided to leave KJ with the other family, since it would be difficult on him. That would at least explain why he had a card like YJ’s book. I think I’m stretching at this point… Anyway, sorry if this has been posted elsewhere! I don’t always have the time to read all of the comments, but I always appreciate your posts Koala!

  10. This drama is amazing!!! I hadn’t felt this excited about a drama in a long long time. I just can’t get my eyes off the tv, it’s so addicting. Everything seems to be in tune, the story, the actors, it’s just incredible.
