Yoon Eun Hye Makes MAC Orange Lipstick Look Good

What power does Yoon Eun Hye have that she makes orange lipstick look good? I’m not asking this rhetorically, because there is no conceivable way the color orange on naturally pinkish lips ought to look good. Especially not on Asian skin with a faint yellow undertone. No, I’m not saying this from personally experience. I hate the color orange (despite once during those Britney Spears era buying a orange backless top to go with my newly acquired leather pants) and would never wear it let alone as lipstick. And yet here I am actually considering trying it out because one good thing about growing older is becoming less self-conscious and also a bit more fun loving. It’s kinda contrary to perception, but I think with age comes the understanding that being happy with yourself trumps wondering if others are happy with you. Anyway, back to Yoon Eun Hye and the color orange, which isn’t some sort of trick Jeopardy question, but truly yet another example that this girl can probably sell ice to eskimos. I’m a huge Eun Hye fan but I know she has her detractors that legitimately don’t think her acting is all that. I can accept that opinion, because she’s on an objective level hit-or-miss on projects, but I find myself enjoying watching her even when she’s not quite there. I think she is magical as a product spokesperson, and MAC clearly thinks so because she’s been the face of the brand’s line of new Spring lipstick colors since last month. I confess to not being a huge MAC fangirl, it’s really a brand better suited for the makeup junkie who loves to experiment whereas I’m more brush on and go type. The line does have an extraordinary array of lipstick colors and textures, though I think Nars does better with the wearability (color and texture). Her new MAC photos were released this week with her modeling the aforementioned orange lipstick (dunno the name but I’m sure if you went to the MAC counter and asked to buy orange lipstick they would hand you the right one) and a very glossy red with blue-orange undertones. While I think Eun Hye makes both colors look good on her, I’m slightly perturbed by how tired she looks with the giant eye bags. What gives? Do I have to still be annoyed with Missing You for making her cry for 7 weeks straight? She should do a saeguk next, I’ve been saying this forever but now I’m going to say it every time I post about her just to see if I can will it to come true.

  1. I have nothing against orange, but orange lipstick has never quite made sense to me, until now. She makes me wanna buy one for myself.

Yoon Eun Hye in a sageuk? Hmm, that is an interesting idea. She should totally do it.

  2. Hahaha I said the exact same thing the day before on AllKPop. Not many people can pull it off, but the orange looks fab on her.

  3. Oh, but those are not “giant eye bags”. They are “eye fats”. Aren’t they a must for Korean actresses to win everybody’s favor?

  4. Honestly, I have never thought of buying orange lipstick for myself, but when I saw the first picture with the soft orange shade I fell in love with it. If I could look half as good as Eun Hye unni with that color, I’d buy it right now, butwho am I kidding? There’s no chance that it would look as good on me, but I’ll probably swing by a MAC store later and buy it anyway ^^

I really miss her. It’s been a long time since we’ve seen her in public (I’m not counting her 2 MAC photoshoots), but I heard that she’ll be in Vietnam from April 23-25 to attend a Burberry store opening 🙂 I can’t wait to see her!

  5. I know fans were always worried about YEH’s eye bags (which equal her being tired)since ages ago.

It’s funny how the “eye bags” have now become a make-up trend, believe it or not LOL. Is that a trend set by her too??

  6. That orange lipstick looks like it’s Morange by MAC, and the red one is a little harder to tell but it reminds me a little of Cockney or Ladybug (which are great lipsticks btw, MAC is one of the best brands for lipsticks especially if you like bright colour)

  7. And weirdly, I actually think YEH looks better now. She was cute as a button (but I never thought of her as a beauty like Shin Mina or Kim Hee Sun) when she was younger, but in her later 20s she’s absolutely GORGEOUS. IMY might have made her cry, but when its hair and MUAs had their game on, it was ON and she looked amazing.

  8. YEH unni is so pretty that even purple lipsticks would look good on her! I agree with the saguek type of drama, though I would like to see her in a lighthearted and funny but with minimal heavy drama like Goong or Queen Inhyun’s Man(ok so semi sageuk?. or like Sunkyunkwan scandal, wherein she will laugh in most episodes than cry?:)

  9. yes she has been very quiet since IMY…but agree with you totally she should be in saguek because she really look good in hanbok…the little while she was in it in,Goong ,the navy blue top hanbok with her hair comb to a small bun with centre parting still on my mind until now…really I am a fan of hers since Goong…my first Korean drama….Thanks Ockoala ,it seems that we do have same taste with actress preference…

  10. YEH is definitely my favorite artist, can’t wait for her next project. Speaking about lipstick I wonder if orange will look good on a 62 yrs old women, guess I’ll find out soon.

  11. I think it’s one of the trends right now in Korea, the “eye bag” but they call it “eye fat”. Some go as far as surgically enhanced the eye fat. Gurl, all you need is a night or two with no sleep, you got your eye bag.. Er.. Eye fat…

  12. all kind of colors lipstick suit with her. YOON EUN-HYE is most beautiful, gorgeous, innocent looks and a talented actress i ever know.
    i love you!!!
