At this point I wouldn’t even say K-actress Seo Ye Ji is attempting a “comeback” after her being a manipulative gaslighter girlfriend to Kim Jung Hyun scandal from February 2021 last year. It feels like she merely passed on one project and landed on another and next month she’s back on the small screen with Eve in the Wed-Thurs time slot. You can say that her misbehavior if you will was nothing to get cancelled over and that’s a debate for each viewer to decide if you want to see her in a drama or movie. In terms of Eve, she’s absolutely front and center and the first poster showcases her in all her dark swan revenge glory, it’s like Sympathy for Lady Vengeance but in television form. Objectively she’s very striking, it’s hard not to stare an extra second or two at the poster so nicely done to the production team. The drama is from the PD of The Uncanny Counter and the screenwriter of The Good Witch, Birth of a Beauty, and One Well-Raised Daughter.

Funny that the ‘Eve’ poster on tvn IG got 200 000 hits within 24 hours and rising. EVE premieres on May 25 (Wednesday) at 10:30 pm on tvN. Studio Dragon’s + TvN daughter is returning to the small screen so being spiteful like all the haters on this blog against SYJ just increased her global fan base. Viu and Viki will increase their subscriptions too. Yeyes, casual fans and non fans are celebrating her drama so sorry to rain on your parade-she was not cancelled last year like you all hoped and wished for -quite the contrary.

Her lying on her education (Complutense University) was also another thing that got buried, as her gaslighting was the front and center. I rmb reading about Tablo and how he suffered coz his cousin was the one who initiated the rumor that he lied about graduating from Stanford (which HE really did graduate from), but even then it was a big blow, but SYJ was able to cover that part. He really has a very strong backing.

I don’t care about her scandal. It was an issue between them. Not sure about the story, revenge stories are not my favourite genre.
But I really like Park Byung-Eun, he’s a good actor and makes interesting choices, he was my favourite character in Lost.
Her scandal was about two people but when it pours out to affect other people…that’s when it gets really messy and is unacceptable. I get she will have fans who support her. She’s a very beautiful woman. Just like a handsome murderer a few years back, who the world wanted released because he was too handsome…SYJ is definitely too pretty to go unnoticed. I doubt I will watch her new show because it reminds me so much of her GMY character already based on that one poster.

If this drama do well ratings wise it doesn’t mean she is back for good. After the scandal, the kind of roles she is going to be offered will still be limited.

Nothing against her, and i like her acting in Save Me ,and Lawless lawyer but i’m against double standards . Yoon Eun Hye ‘s case, yes i know, i mention her often, but it’s because i still find that her ban was too harsh ! Honestly, I don’t think YEH is beautiful. I think her youth made her very charming and pretty, she had this bubbly energy that worked very well. She’s still pretty but not as the usual Korean beauty standars and she doesn’t shine as much as before anymore.
Seo Yeji’s beauty didn’t get recognized until IOTNBO with the glamorous outfits that highlighted an enviably small waist.
Both have good auras for photoshoots. Seo Yeji has a stronger agency backing her up and a thicker skin so she could come back. There is more drama programming now and a variety on lead roles now so she could come back as a darker female lead. Otherwise, she would be torn apart if she tried to come back in the more innocent roles.
This got me curious, What happened to YEH? Why she was most hated back then.

@nuna, I’m a huge fan of hers but, being objective, Yoon Eun-Hye had other scandals besides the plagiarism incident. I think with each one though her apologies have not been well received. Most importantly, her last two dramas were pretty much flops.
Yoon Eun Hye was not banned. She stay away from the limelight because she suffered from depression. I believe that her plagiarism scandal was not really that big issue. There were other female actresses that were hated before because of bigger issue but they are still active in drama & film. I think the reason why YEH is not acting anymore is because she is not as strong as other female celebs. There’s a lot of hate in SK, you got to have a thick skin to deal with haters & media. Her agency also doesn’t have a lot of connections for them to protect her & made good publicity. I remember how YG Ent handles G-Dragon plagiarism scandal.
If YEH wants to make a comeback, she should choose first a bigger & better agency. Thats what SYJ has now, let’s see if her new drama will be successful.
I’m a big fan of YEH as a person, but I think she definitely peaked. She hasn’t chosen dramas that showcase she is versatile. Other than playing a teen princess, and suspending belief that she plays a kind-hearted boy, none of her other roles have been memorable.
Compare YEH to her peers like SYJ and the talent level is night and day.
I seriously don’t get why koala won’t stop writing about that scandal is not like she offended you personally. I don’t condone what she did but is high time we forgave her because none of us are saints. To err is human to forgive is divine. SYJ is good at utilizing fashion in her dramas to stand out and create buzz. Even if this drama doesn’t do well, I expect she’ll pop up on social media alot due the outfits that she wears. Credit to her though, she does wear clothes extremely well.

True, she was a plain jane before IOTNBO. Very average visuals. And forgettable. Which is why she was stuck in nugudom. The flashy fashion, gifted makeup team, bitchy girl boss attitude and her plastic surgery is what helped her finally get attention.

@Pop – Yes, she utilized fashion strategically in IONTBO, and it looks like that strategy extends to this drama too.
@Rem True. That is why there are a few incidents where we read in the tabloids about Celebrities failing to return the dresses/gowns and jewelry that they wore for an event that were just lent/rented to them.
But in the case of drama/movie sets, the wardrobe dept. sometimes borrow or buy clothes for the actors but they don’t get to keep them unless you are big stars and they specifically include it in your contract but they can keep only a few. But in the case of expensive brands, they are usually lent/rented from luxury styling companies.
She was never known for her fashion before IOTNBO. She only got to wear all those high end fashion pieces because it was a high profile drama with big budget and luxury brand sponsors. In all her previous dramas, her clothing are mostly affordable local brands. In other words, the sponsors were interested in the drama, not her. She is no Jun Ji Hyun.

@Ume – well it looks like this drama managed to get budget and sponsors too, because she’s rocking Boucheron Plume earrings in a still I saw, and those earrings aren’t cheap.
@Amaranth. Stylists are hired to dress the stars in a drama. And the clothes they wear are depending on their roles. If they are playing a rich person, they are going to dress them accordingly with expensive brands. And these clothes and accessories are just lent to them unless a brand is a sponsor. So, it doesn’t really cost the production that much because they are paying for the service of the stylist and not the clothes itself.

Well if a pedophile/cheaters can comeback in the industry then why not her its just a matter of being thivk skin anyway older people will enjoy this type of drama because they enjoy revenge and cheating stories.

I wouldn’t say she is beautiful. She is well put together by make up, plastic surgery, and nice clothes. But look at the second picture, without all that, she looks very plain jane.
Yup, basing on the 2nd set of photos, that even with plastic surgery she is still plain Jane. There are no features(eyes, nose, lips/mouth) that stands out.
