Han Ye Seul and Kim Ji Suk in Talks for MBC Fall Romance Drama No Sex and the City

K-dramas have always been chaste compared to their Western counterparts, and though the needle has moved in the years since holding hands and long stares the kisses still skew more towards lip presses. MBC is scheduling an upcoming prime time drama called No Sex and the City that seems to hit the chaste motif on the head – it’s about three bestie girl friends who are all thirtysomething virgins and their ensuing romantic awakening and journey. A thirtysomething virgin is a rarity in itself, having three and are all friends makes me want to test the water in their neighborhood and also look for unicorns. And maybe warn the potential suitors to tread carefully, lol. All jokes aside, the drama is pitched as a romance and family story of the ladies who grew up together in the same close knit neighborhood. Up for the leads as Han Ye Seul and Kim Ji Suk, solid choices in roles I can already picture in my head.

No Sex and the City is directed by the PD of Korean Fated to Love You and The Queen’s Classroom and penned by the second writer of Answer Me 1997. It will premiere sometime in September 2017.

  1. I love Kim Ji Suk and it’s a travesty that he doesn’t receive more love. He has been the second lead for eons now, hope it’s a leading role. The premise doesn’t sound exciting but with the writer of Answer Me 1997, it gives me hope.

    • Love Kim Ji Suk too and agree with you . His friends have been leads (Lee Jin Wook and Lee Dong Wook) since over a decade. But Han YE SEUL ! I’ve tried some of her lastest dramas …She doesn’t sell me her roles. I’d prefer Jung Yumi, Yoon Eun Hye, Moon Geun Young, and a lot of new actresses .

      • I wish it is another actress of equal calibre too. HYS hasn’t accepted right?? Please say no…..and no idols please …..

  2. I actually like Han Ye Seul and she’s why I stuck with Madame Antoine, but I see I’m in the minority. I didn’t stick with B of B because of the story. I’m also a fan of KJS. I’m happy he is getting a lead role though he’s been fortunate in a lot of his secondary roles as well, including his most recent one.
