I try my best to give dramas and castings the benefit of the doubt, and when my initial concerns are proven wrong is the best feeling of surprise. When Ha Ji Won and Lee Seung Gi were cast in The King 2 Hearts I was way wary but ended up loving the drama and the onscreen coupling as one of my all time faves. Same goes with Yoona and Lee Bum Soo for Prime Minister and I. So I’m hoping for third time’s also a charm with upcoming MBC drama Hospital Ship which released script reading stills that make me think Ha Ji Won is playing a medical school professor on a Semester at Sea session with students Kang Min Hyuk and Lee Seo Won. And any specter of romance is going to take lots of chemistry and narrative plotting to overcome how she looks like their teacher and the boys headed out on a learning cruise. Sigh, I do like Ha Ji Won and Kang Min Hyuk so please please let this unexpected and rather visually incongruous pairing work out within the drama itself.

Hospital Ship comes from the screenwriter of Hwang Jin Yi, Korean Peninsula, and Secret Door, with the PD of A New Leaf, Scandal, and Missing You. I’m expecting a lot of wind blowing through the hair and moping by the railings moments, lol.
