Police Continues Alleged Sexual Harassment Investigation of Onew Who Bows Out of K-drama Age of Youth 2
There’s been updates to the alleged sexual harassment allegations lobbed at idol-actor Onew from the boy group SHINee, some conflicting statements but so far nothing fully incriminating or exonerating. Onew was reported to the police by a woman at a club who claimed he touched her inappropriately, with Onew’s agency SM Entertainment admitting the touching happened but claimed he was too drunk and it was inadvertent as he mistook her legs for a pool when she was dancing on a raised platform by his table. Apparently she dropped the charges after giving a police statement but later said it was due to pressure from SM.
Further information such as her boyfriend being the one to call the cops has raised the specter of her motivations, but then again Onew is alleged to have touched her so whatever her side wants it doesn’t negate what he did. For Onew’s part, the smartest career move for now is to quietly exit upcoming K-drama Age of Youth 2 which he has now confirmed will happen after initially saying that he will remain in the drama. How his character will be dispatched with remains to be seen but I just hope for a swift resolution to this scandal so all parties can move on.
It’s amazing what the consequences of some bad decisions are. Makes me wonder what would have happened if he had another person with him who had sent him home when he first got drunk and prevented him from clubbing. Or if he never hung out with said group of friends in the first place. He’s responsible for his own actions though, so he has to live with the consequences. He’s also been known to be prone to depression and to being particularly clumsy so I don’t know how all this drama will affect his psyche. Hopefully he can learn some hard lessons and swear off alcohol for good. I hope he comes back stronger after this fiasco.
Depress People many times refuge in alcohol , and drugs, to make then forget about their “demon”. Temporary feel good, and mask the symptoms. A very dangerous combination. The consequence is not pretty . I notice many of these young artists, that admit suffering for severe depression like to play with alcohol, when they should not even try it. I think you shouldn’t believe everything what a site like Koreaboo writes. Also, what’s Suzy got to do with this? She had depression but she didn’t “play with alcohol” or DUI or do any drugs nor has she harassed anyone. The opposite, she has been sexually harassed since her debut. It’s better if you didn’t spread false information. And to our knowledge, Onew isn’t suffering from any mental illness. Unless he is diagnosed with anything, we simply can’t make any assumptions about his mental state.
if u depress, take ur alcohol and stay home. if u go clubbing u digging ur own grave. just say good bye to ur career.
right or wrong,if there cctv in that place. it can prove many thing but sadly public can’t see that.
Honestly, what Onew did was incredibly irresponsible and wrong too. And a man at his age who can’t hold his liquor and does dumb things, loses control of himself and doesn’t remember a thing while drunk, is such a childish and immature turn off.
@Dilnaz , you need to learn how to read and understand , without letting your bias feelings overtake common sense and your hability to comprehend and interpret what is written. I base my opinion, on publish information, that are consider as facts, base on interviews given by artists themselves. I have nothing to fair. Ignorante reaction and denial, like what you demonstrated , is what keep many of these artists/ and not, with a mental condition , because depression is a curable mental condition when treat earlier and appropriate, not looking for help, and engage in a risky behaviors, that includes use of alcohol, to numb their feelings and the mental struggle they endure.
You don’t trust Koreabo, but I do. So far, I find all their articles legit, until prove otherwise .
