K-stars Release Denials of Being Members of Shincheonji Church at the Center of South Korea’s Coronavirus Outbreak

This is totally a witch hunt if anyone thinks there is anything to dig into here. This week an anonymous netizen posted a list of Korean celebrities reportedly members of the cultish Shincheonji Church that is at the origin and center of the massive outbreak of the novel coronavirus COVID19 in the country. Church members went to Wuhan in December and January and came back with the virus, not getting tested and going to church services, leading to the explosion of cases in church headquarters in Daegu and the environs. The netizen posted a list of supposed celebrity members of the church including Won Bin, Lee Na Young, Lee Dong Wook, Ivy, Gummy, Tei, Lee Byung Hun, and many more. Every single star named as denied being a member and preparing to sue for defamation if needed.

  1. Oh no! Leave Gummy alone! She’s expecting and doesn’t needed this added stress let alone being tagged as a member of some cult. Grrrhhhh these so called name droppers should be found and prosecuted with jail time incurred. However, personally I’m not fazed if these celebs are or not art of this cult because it’s their business what they do in their spare time. If anything the SK Government should be enforcing mandatory confinement for these cult members because obviously they’re roaming foot loose and fancy free with total disregard to those around them. Now I feel like watching “Save Me” again.

  2. Ridiculous accusations. People are free to believe whatever they want, with or without the approval of fans, but this is simply stuff that’s been invented in order to hurt people. Heol. Korean celebrities are donating more money than you can imagine in your life in order to fight this virus (some of the same people on that list), reducing rent on buildings they own, etc. The appropriate response here is to say thank you, not to attack them.
