K-actor Park Hyung Sik is recently out of the army and he’s already got not one but two dramas lined up. K-ent is reporting that he’s in talks as the male lead of upcoming tvN drama Happiness, which has already cast Han Hyo Joo as the female lead and character actor Jo Woo Jin as the second male lead. It’s being described as a city thriller intrigue story about a world that has entered a new normal after a pandemic and surrounds the people living in a high rise where the top floors are sold to rich people and the lower floors leased to the average folks. It deals with the psychological struggles between the wealth classes and Park Hyung Sik’s male lead if a former baseball player who leaves the game after an injury and finds a new path with the help of the female lead. The two are former classmates and friends, and in the beginning of the drama also pretending to be a married couple. The drama is from the PD of Secret Forest, Record of Youth, Rooftop Prince, and Memories of Alhambra with the screenwriter of Watcher. The drama is scheduled to film next month in May. He’s also planning to do a sageuk drama next which was originally the K-drama adaptation of The Golden Hairpin but due to all the K-netizen hatred of anything Chinese investment or product related it will now be an original sageuk script.

He”s out of the army already, since Jan 4, but it looks like he is still in the army bec he rarely updates.

Watcher was pretty good and the casting did really great! I like the PD too. So why not?
Good move not to adapt a C-novel otherwise, it might get canceled. Sigh?
Anyway, so happy that he’s coming back with a drama real soon. Ofc i prefer to watch him in sageuk but then, anything from him for now will do.
Sounds like Parasite x Alive. Not a fan of Han Hyo Joo, but since it’s Park Hyung Sik’s post-military comeback drama, I’m gonna have to tune in lol
Has he officially confirmed the sageuk? I hope he does coz I really want to see him one. And yes, best all around to forgo the Chinese novel adaptation considering the current atmosphere.
I’m happy he’s possibly going to be doing something else while they wait for the new story to be written. I haven’t send any of HHJ’s works but the rest of the production looks good. Anyway, anything PHS, I’m in.
He will still be doing the sageuk but with revisions of script making it a creative drama instead, production will be delayed to September, so he will have time to this drama.
Thanks! I’ve only read news about him ‘in talks’ for the sageuk but haven’t seen news officially confirming, so had wondered. Great if he does both coz that means a lot of PHS on my screen for the coming months ^_^
