The first teaser is out for C-drama Nothing But You (Chinese title Love Only) with Wu Lei and Zhou Yu Tong and it’s giving off really cool vibes. The teaser has the two leads discussing the type of person they are looking for and then being attracted to each other despite neither fitting that bill. The real life age gap between the leads is only a few years but in the drama their characters have a decade between them, she’s 32 and he’s 22 and the drama makes a big point of that because one is finishing college and the other smack in serious adulthood so it will be interesting to see how they connect with each other to build on more than just attraction. This type of story is regularly done South Korea had I Need Romance 3 and Taiwan with My Dear Boy just to name some but it always comes down to chemistry and a reasonably compelling story.
Teaser for Nothing But You:
I went into love like the galaxy a zhao lusi fan and came out a wu lei fan girl. Lol. I am ready for this drama. I was worried he would not do well in romantic dramas because I got a sense that he only pulled it off in lltg because he genuinely likes lusi as a person. Otherwise he would not feel comfortable and everything would look and feel awkward. He is new to kissing on screen and doing romantic stuff.
In this new drama, I want to see confident kissing scenes. The director made the actors in dating in the kitchen kiss for 5 hours until they got it right, so I was confident he would not let Will also give him shi**y kissing on screen. I want to see shyness when he’s is holding a woman. More confidence in the romantic scenes and I will be the happiest fan in the world. I believe in him. Lol
i had never seen him in anything before lltg but he’s made a lifelong fan out of me.
I think it needs more to be done if the government want to combat the negative view of ‘leftover women’ so they can romanticised the thought of dating older women (for men) and younger men (for women).
Is this the intention of making these romance dramas?
I dont usually watch noona romance. But im not against it. As long as not teacher-student relationship, which I really cant stomach.
He can’t kiss. Good luck to her.
Haters gonna hate. You have to be shallow to think kissing is the only thing that matters in dramas/movies.
Boy is young and have all the time in the world to improve himself in that department. Meanwhile, acting wise (what really matters here) he has the chops, is pretty talented and has a lot of stage presence (highly charismatic for someone his age)
I’m far from being a c-entertaiment fan (K-ent addict all the way) but thanks to him and his awesome performance in LLTG, I might watch more of them in the future (I plan to watch his next projects of course)
@Laura Sorry, not sorry…I call a spade a spade. She/He is a hater. That was a mean comment.
@neen Many asian actors can kiss…Ji Chang Wook, Seo In Guk, Lee Jun Ho, Lee Jong Suk just to name a few.
don’t know abt others, but for me, even if they dont have any kiss scenes, it’s okay by me, as long as the actors did well in giving me the soul connection/chemistry. A kiss isn’t significant if I dont feel the soul chemistry or connection.
In LLTG, he might be seemed as stiff in the so called kiss department, but still, in another department, he’s excellent for me. I got the soul connection between 081 and 33 just by looking each other’s eyes (my opinion). Left the romantic aspects, and He could even totally brought out 081’s hotness (yeah, 081 is hot for me)and another characteristics of 081, especially on 47th and 48th episode. It’s epic for me.
I have the same opinion about him, just like you, he’s awesome.
Noticed he’s such an awesome actor ever since The Long Ballad.
In fact, He’s the main reason that led me to watch LLTG in the first place.
Will wait his other projects.
And even better if he play another difficult role as difficult as 081.
And, yeah, let him grow. He’s still young. Give him the chance.
@Panda_eyes : sorry, I mean A kiss isn’t that significant as long as I could feel the soul chemistry or connection.
@panda
It is only mean if you are 10 years old. He is well known in cent as a bad kisser. She didn’t say his acting sucks (and that’s still not hating even if she had).
LOL No one can kiss in a Asian drama. There is always this awkward distance even when they are so close and suppose to be intimate. I give it only to Kim Soo Hyun in “Its okay not to be okay” to deliver a swoon worthy kiss.
Not true. Ji Chang Wook can kiss. Lee Jong Suk can kiss. Koreans are generally way better.
@panda eyes The word hater has lost meaning because you use it for every single thing that has nothing to do with any “hate”. Smh
Whhhhuuuuuaaat rotf lmao
Vincenzo (Song Joong Ki) can deliver a kiss that sucks the soul out of the body.
Ling Xiao /Yuan Song (Song Wei Long) can deliver 10 course-meal of kisses that would make the girl forgets her name and the way home.
The younger generation of Asian Boys are delivering just fine, it’s prob the girls that need to step up.
Wu Lei is almost there, or there already according to the leaked video of their bed scene for “Nothing but you” .
@Laura – that poster has been leaving passive aggressive and/or antagonistic comments. they are in fact a hater.
lol.. there are tons of Asian male actors who can kiss, especially chinese male actors. even better than the actor that u have mentioned. go watch siege in fog kiss scenes. one of the hottest and most emotional kissing scenes I’ve ever seen.
@Shanika – LOL… you are pretty pathetic in your comments (I read in other posts of yours also). If you watch a drama only for the kisses, I suggest you go look for a real mate… A real kiss feels much better than watching someone kissing on screen. Sicko. LOLOL…
If I am watching romance, I want good kisses not dead fish ones.
Sicko? For wanting good kissing scenes? Ouch. Talk to a psychiatrist, you need it.
You won’t say that about WL if you have watched the onscreen kisses of ZYT. Filming good kiss scenes is the job of the director with cooperative cinematography, do not blame the actors.
Stewwww..that is such a rude thing to say. If you are only watching dramas and actors to see how well they kiss or not then you should stop watching dramas altogether. I think he is a great actor who works hard he also seems a bit shy..but that is what adds to his charm. Lastly if you don’t have positive things to say then don’t say anything at all! I am a fan of him and i wish him health happiness and success.
this seems poised for an end of year/early next year release. i can’t wait! wu lei said he was drawn to the script, so i have high hopes.
Wu Lei has a body to play an athlete, so believable. Personally, the older woman thing only works if the age gap is not too much. Remember Defeated Queen with Ethan Ruan and Cheryl Yang, with 8 yrs difference that couple worked. But Qin Lan and Wang He Di in Rational Life with 19 yrs difference is so far reaching and sometimes cringy.

Whatever for this drama I am 💯% all in bcoz it is Wu Lei and I like Zhou Yu Tong. EXCITED FOR THIS!
And….This will give again motivations to older sister – younger brother love romance. There is nothing wrong loving each other even there is a big age gap and even there is a wide difference in perspectives. I love the trailer which is giving us the honest situation of the plot, the age gap, the difference in priorities and perspectives. This surely, will be the BEST MODERN ROMANCE IN C-DRAMA LAND in THIS YEAR 2022 like how LLTG fluttered the hearts of many viewers in local and international.
Jeez..I googled Zhou Yu Tong to check her age and she’s even younger than me!! *sigh*
She’s not even 30 and only a few years older than Wu Lei, how are they making her play such a big age difference lol!
I’m watching The Rational Life these days so I expected something like that ahah! I guess not!
Anyways, I loved Wu Lei in Crossfire but haven’t watched him in anything since..maybe this time I’ll check it out!
