The decreased C-drama production this year means that the pickiest of stars will be back on the small screen even more infrequently, and one of them is actor Wu Lei. At least he’s left me two dramas I can rewatch in Love Like the Galaxy and Amidst a Snowstorm of Love so that it’s not entirely fallow ground. It’s also … Continue reading →
A new casting melon that is juicy is circulating this week in C-ent. C-actorWu Lei just filmed S+ budget period wuxia C-drama The One (Chinese title 劍來 Jian Lai or Sword Comes) and it’s his first drama in three years. I didn’t expect him to be ready to do another but reportedly he’s considering a S+ budget modern romance C-drama … Continue reading →
So the Tencent period C-drama The One (Chinese title Jian Lai 剑来 which means Sword Comes) has been filming since the end of 2025 and is reportedly close to wrapping production within the month. I didn’t even realize that even though I’m looking forward to this drama since it stars Wu Lei as the male lead and is his first … Continue reading →
So this is like rumor on top of the original casting rumor, but strangely the production and folks involved actually responded to it. Normally with rumors it’s just silence and letting it fall by the wayside. This week there was a big rumor in C-ent that Zhang Ling He, thanks to doing well with recently premiered Chasing Jade, would be … Continue reading →
Well if that Han Dynasty Epic never gets off the ground at leas there is for sure a next C-drama with Wu Lei for his fans to look forward to. This week Tencent announced the wuxia C-drama The One (Chinese title Jian Lai 剑来 or Sword Comes) adapted from the same name novel, and also confirmed the long running rumor … Continue reading →
So this C-drama production has been in the works for some years but it’s a mega production with a serious history abiding bent (rather than the fun dramas the liberally play around with history) but word on the street is that it is for sure happening next year in 2026 and has the two male leads near confirmed. The drama … Continue reading →
This drama has been linked to actor Wu Lei for close to a year and now there is credible word that it’s finalized/finalizing the cast with an eye towards filming commencement. The drama is titled The One (Chinese title Jian Lai or Sword Comes) and is a classic wuxia swordsman epic. Joining Wu Lei will be Vanda Margraf as the … Continue reading →
There are crazier C-drama casting rumors but this is among the top craziest I’ve heard. Still, it’s being discussed so might as well share – the highly anticipated drama adaptation of novel The Rebirth of the Malicious Empress of Military Lineage has been looking for leads for months with many names floated here and there. This week the leads being … Continue reading →
There is new movement with the casting of Tencent period C-drama The One (剑来 Jian Lai or Sword Comes), which is good because it means Tencent is actively trying to kick off production for this rather than just noodling around. The new female lead rumored is C-actress Zhang Xue Ying, who I know the name and her face is familiar … Continue reading →
This C-drama in planning as been jumping around C-ent for over a year with potential top level male leads and start dates but it seems like it is finally locking down to get started. Period wuxia C-drama The One (adapted from the novel Sword Comes or Sword of Coming 剑来) will be headlining Wu Lei as the male lead in … Continue reading →
This is only the second time in two years I’ve seen industry casting talk put C-actor Wu Lei with an upcoming drama so even if it doesn’t come to fruition it still piques my interest majorly. C-ent is saying Youku will provide the drama adaptation of The Path Towards Heaven (Da Dao Chao Tian 大道朝天) from the same novel writer … Continue reading →
So this is a big C-drama that has been in talks and prep for over a year. Late in 2023 it was rumored that Wu Lei would be the male lead of period drama Shi Jin (什锦) adapted from the same name novel. Then a few weeks later there was buzz that the male lead had changed from Wu Lei … Continue reading →
So C-actor Wu Lei has been veeeeeery picky with his projects, beyond wanting to do more movies rather than dramas, he’d rather enjoy life and all his hobbies than work nonstop. For a child actor turned successful adult actor, this balance is really good for his mental wellbeing but not clear if it’s going to keep him from leveling up … Continue reading →
