Kim Tae Hee and Lim Ji Yeon Confirmed for ENA Thriller K-drama House with a Yard
This is a great time to announce this drama since it’s striking while the iron is hot for Lim Ji Yeon who plays the antagonist again. Cable network ENA has announced the upcoming thriller K-drama House with a Yard for later this year and the female lead will be Kim Tae Hee with Lim Ji Yeon as her foil that disrupts her nice life in a house with a yard. I think it’s awesome for Lim Ji Yeon to be able to tackle truly evil characters and be appreciated for her good acting and then loved in real life despite the onscreen image. Kim Tae Hee doesn’t do as many dramas these days but her last one Hi Bye Mama in 2020 was very well received. House with a Yard is not as warm and teary as that drama, it’s about a woman living a perfect life in a house with a yard that has her life disrupted when she smells a dead body. Ooooooh, creepy!
OMG if Park Yeon Jin got released from prison, I assume she’d be burying bodies in her backyard in the future. This could be a sequel to The Glory! I love it. LOL I appreciate LJY for her acting, she goes against norms of being a cute actress even though she can play cute as well. I was more impressed by Park Yeon Jin then Moon Dong Eun. She’s one of the best baddies I’ve watched in a long time.
People are partial towards actors who play antagonistic characters because their expressions tend to be very overt. Lim’s performance in The Glory was very typical evil to me, so I really can’t tell if it’s good acting. The plot does sound like it has got potential though, so I’m happy for her. I also think this is a smart follow-up role opposite an actress who has name value but not necessarily the acting reputation. If she leaped directly into the usual K-drama female lead role, she might find herself disappearing into oblivion like Lee Yuri.
Thank you, finally someone said it. Not denying she did well in the role but people here are reaaallly exaggerating how great her performance was in The Glory. Literally watch any makjang drama and you’ll see that kind of over-the-top performance a lot lol
I still find Song Hye Kyo and Jung Sung Il to be the best actors on the show, and the ahjumma who helped Dong Eun too (sorry, I forgot her name). They have very impactful performances without the over the top expressions. Their eye acting was on point too 👌
Lee Yuri’s last drama got poor rating but Lie after Lie still got high rating. Besides she was well-received as charismatic and sassy female lead in “Father is Strange” as well. All these after her villain role in Jang Bori is Here. Sadly she just can’t totally avoid makjang in her choices.
Lim Ji yeon in The Glory is quite overrated. She is nothing compared to Kim So yeon in Penthouse. I can see her fame will slowly fade away after few months. She also lacks impact as the female lead, she already led few drama before but very forgettable.
Jeez, fade away in a few months? let her ride her success. Seen her in many other roles and she’s quite good. She’s played cutesy, assassin, adulterer…many roles, so no I don’t think she’s overrated as Park Yeon Jin, she deserves all the praise she is getting. Some roles just hit jackpot and this is one for her. Well deserved.
