No one looks airbrushed and photoshopped and everything looks so life-and-death intense that period times would elicit. Not to mention My Dearest is set in the Joseon dynasty during the Qing invasion and we all know that the one unifying force in Korean history is the hatred of invaders and the banding together to preserve their sovereignty, culture, and livelihoods.
