Flower of Evil to be Remade into C-drama Deceit with Chen Xiao and Yang Zi Shan
Put this is in the no need and even worse case scenario a really bad idea category. C-drama is going to remake critically beloved K-drama Flower of Evil, one of the best dark and twisty melodramas in recent years airing on Youku in 2024. It’s called Deceit and will star Chen Xiao and Yang Zi Shan, so thank god no pretty idols as the leads but the OG cast of Lee Jun Ki and Moon Chae Won hit their roles out of the park so hard the ball is still flying through the galaxy its hard to imagine anyone else doing justice to the complicated and multifaceted characters. The drama is set for the remake as filming commences next month in September.
No need please
Oh though i dont usually like remakes but i like the casting. Cheng Xiao is good is heavy meaty roles so I thk he would do justice to the character.
Noooooooooooooooooo
This sounds almost as a bad idea as the remake of My Mister.
Who knows they will make it better version of the series. In the third the drama is becoming too cliche… and no longer interesting for me. Thexdrama has potential, but the writing become so lazy as story progress
I don’t trust the chinese when it comes to suspense remake aahahaha
Cue kill me heal me
I loved this drama , no need to make a remake . Why countries try always to make it rather than showing the original works . It’s good to see the original works , it shows another cultures, traditions, habits, landscapes, … one can learn a lot . I don’t like when USA , for example, remakes a french , spanish, korean ,…movie or drama . It may exists some exceptions as Life on Mars or Martin Scorsese ‘s The departed ( remake of Infernal Affairs), but it’s rare .
I would normally agree, but the American adaptation of kdrama Good Doctor was pretty good, compared to the kdrama they really delved deep into the story. I like that especially how they show romance with autist, love how awkward but caring they are.
That said, most of the adaptation I see is a fail. But I think there are some successful ones, like:
More Than Blue – taiwanese remake of korean movie
Moon Lovers – korean remake of chinese drama
The Smile Has Left Your Eyes – korean remake of japanese drama
@Yuhyi i agree with you about, Moon lovers and the smile has left your eyes . Good doctor was more about taking the concept about an autist doctor, and i agree that the concept can work in various countries , but at the same time it’s sad that people who don’t know about korean dramas don’t get to see the original work . Attorney Woo can also be adapted, but what about the magic about discovering another country, another style of living,… it’s why i’m for the countries to buy the original works and released them . Just for people to open their mind into cultural diversity . I don’t imagine a country rewriting or remaking a Jane Austen, Emile Zola, Victor Hugo ,… book , if they did how could i have been able to learn so much things about english society in XIX , politics , social conditions in France during the industrial era , Dreyfus case, …
Moon Lovers? You CLEARLY never seen the original
Didn’t watch the kdrama but I love CX and YZS so I will watch the remake.
NOOOOOOOOOO BAD IDEA NOOOOOOOOOOOOO I HATE IT NOOOOO
