K-actor Namgoong Min has been winning awards and bringing better than usual drama ratings on all his recent projects, don’t know if he’s just that good at picking dramas or he elevates dramas that without him would not be as good. Currently airing Fri-Sat sageuk My Dearest got 10.6% ratings for episode 7 which is double the opening ratings in the premiere. The drama is wrapping Part 1 with 10 episodes next week and will come back in October for Part 2 so hopefully the momentum will still be there. The drama is getting rave reviews and also looks both gritty and pretty at the same time.
The right kind saeguk (instead of the usual light and fluffy), director (who happened to work with NGM previously), an experienced scriptwriter who wrote good scripts for saeguk…and last but least an experienced actor like NGM are what MBC needs….
Yes! Definitely a step in the right direction away from the flower boy nonsense and a slap to the face of the netizens hating on Ahn Eun Jin, Lee Hak Joo, etc for being ‘ugly’
Nam Gong Min is spectacular but I give props to the female lead Ahn Eun Jin too. She is so charming and her acting is so natural
The other actress can’t act, FL’s childhood friend (wife of Lee Seunggi), while the rest are good.
Love the fight scenes, cinematography, dialogue, OST, pacing of the story, and acting.
