C-actress Zhao Lu Si was spotted in BTS footage during her photo shoot this week with Wang An Yu as the pair ramp up promotions for their upcoming xianxia drama The Last Immortal. Normally the BTS stuff is cute but there was a moment that rankled C-netizens when Wang An Yu offered Zhao Lu Si a piece of gum and she took it but gave off a gross look after chewing. She then took it out and put the chewed piece in her assistant’s bare hand. C-netizens are calling her gross and entitled but seriously star assistants put up with a lot and from the BTS scene it looks like her assistant offered to take the piece of gum she wanted to spit out so I see this as much ado about nothing.
Looks like she has a willing assistant that will be her beck and call. As a boss I love to have such assistant. But even I will draw a line offering something I chew and split onto her bare hands. She may be willing but I have more respect for her hands. Putting in a tissue or something then her her to dispose of it is the respectful thing to do. Saying that, I dont think this should be leaked out.
But I am just curious why is this even photographed and leaked??? Must be so tiring for one to be wary of every moment of their working time…having “Big Brother” out to catch any mistakes. Such stress can drive anyone insane, paranoid and suspicious of others. It is very unhealthy.
Indeed, it seems to me that it was intentionally captured to purposely pull down Zhao Lusi. As we can see on the footage, it shows the assistant offered her bare hands to Lusi as we all know, this girl is genuine and not pretentious in any thing.
Big deal! Personal assistants are supposed to work hand and foot to help alleviate their boss’ personal concerns. Is it really that degrading? I think if ZLS smeared the gum on her hair or clothes, that would be degrading and newsworthy.
It isn’t revealed in what context she was in. She’s probably doing a photoshoot and didn’t have a tissue on hand to spit it out to.
To each its own, you are happy to take the spilt out gum from your boss, I would rather my staff hand me a tissue so I can warp the gum instead of putting this in her hand. Again, to each its own…we just deal with thing differently. Again, I like to stress, I love a good assistant and will give her/him equal respect. So much germs in saliva..
She looks to be on a set and didn’t have tissues on hand. Plus if the assistant cared so much, as an assistant she could have grabbed a tissue before she OFFERED (as Koala observed) to take it by hand. Or maybe the assistant could have picked up a trash bin or anything. You act as if ZLS INSISTED that her assistant must use her bare hand and hand only. If ZLS walked off to find tissues or the trash, then why is the assistant even there on set? Getting paid to watch in the background? Some of you haters are ready to crucify celebs you dislike without using your brains.

Disgusting. Poor assistant, slaves to spoiled and arrogant celebs without any sort of basic manners. Put your filthy gum in a hankie first but why would she. To her, assistant isn’t really a person.
ZLS was dressed for the scene and probably didn’t have hankie or tissues on her. Rather, why didn’t the assistant have the tissues or hanky ready to grab it? The assistant offered to take it and its not like ZLS insisted that only bare hands can be used.

The way I see it is, if it’s other people or people I’m not close with it’s gross and sure is icky, but sometimes with my nieces and nephews when they throw their gum or candies they chewed already but didn’t like it, and there’s no tissue i take with my bare hands too so maybe Lusi and her assistant is very close like family.
Errr, I’m assuming your niece or nephew is a child. Because if they aren’t, that’s disgusting irrelevant on “family”. What kind of adult would hand over their food filled with saliva on the bare hands of their aunt? What you described isn’t even remotely comparable unless you think ZLS is less than 10yo.
Isn’t her assistant one of her best friends? Anyway, if the assistant offered to take it rather than ZLS demanding her to take it, it imposes very different scenarios. Depends how one will look at the scene. I don’t find it problematic unless ZLS is the one demanding it.
From the video lusi did not demand it, she was actually going to throw it and her assistant offered her hand, then again if she should have thrown it, she would have been criticise of that too anyway,u can’t win both ways.Has someone said ,her assistant should have come with a tissue to collect the gum,my guess is so many things could have played a factor at that moment for her to not get tissue on time to take the gum from her, n they seem to be very close because, she didn’t hesitate to take the gum from her knowing that she just removed it out of her mouth according to the video that leaked.
It’s almost like they’re ready, fingers at the keyboard, to pounce on anything and everything. Then they wait for the inevitable apology or statement for press, and then they pounce on that. Or if none was made, they pounce on that. Then the fans come running to defend and oh, definitely more pouncing. I suppose it’s their way of having fun.
Honestly, even my own sister will not willingly open their hand to throw my gum away or me. Our first reaction will be ewwww! This could go both ways: either the assistant is so used to being treated this way like at lusi’s disposal or the assistant is willing to do this because she wants to/her duties. Seriously, me as lusi would have stopped the assistant or be like girl grab a tissue first since we have time to wait.
That’s the business between ZLS and her assistant. Why are C-ent nobodies always so nosy? BTS gossips like this appear more like antis spreading juicy stories than having serious concerns of whatnot.
I like ZLS as an actress anyway. Unless she officially commits crimes, I’ll continue to like her on screen. She is unique and very recognizable that no one else can easily copy her acting style.
I’m certain Lusi had no malicious intent seeing as her assistant was the one that offered. However, this isn’t the first time she comes off as an airhead/lacking in basic manners. It’s a work environment (not personal time) and professionalism should be kept. I wouldn’t be putting my chewed-up gum on my employee’s hand no matter how “close” we are. It’s unhygienic.
Much ado about nothing. Since antis can’t find legitimate things to accuse an actress about, they are down to accusing her about treating her assistant like a maid. Sounds like someone is trying so hard to build a narrative: first it was accusing Lusi of making her assistant put on her costume shoes between takes; next it is accusing her of putting chewed gum in her assistant’s hand.
I’m not saying it’s not gross and disgusting, and that the assistant shouldn’t have carried tissues with her onset because you really never know about emergencies. I’m also not saying Lusi isn’t an airhead for doing that. Maybe it was an emergency and it was the better alternative to spitting it on the floor, who knows?

Celebrities are people too, they sneeze, fart, spit, sweat, smoke, have sex, date, get married, have kids. Just like regular folk do.
