So this C-drama with Zhao Li Ying was supposed to have been cast already but pre-production and budgeting is taking longer so it’s now really locking down the male lead role but with the added success of her currently airing xianxia drama The Legend of Shen Li. Zhao Li Ying signed on for the female lead centric S-level budgeted C-drama Tearless Snow towards the end of last year and at that time the male lead was reportedly going to be Gong Jun. His team absolutely wants this role for him. But it’s gotten competitive now as many top young drama actors are vying for the male lead role opposite hitmaker Zhao Li Ying and reportedly are willing to take a cut from their usual salary if chosen. I think Gong Jun getting cast may or may not happen depending on whether his next drama Fox Spirit Matchmaker with Yang Mi airs soon and is/is not a hit.
Gong jun is handsome but acting wide, I feel lin gengxin is so much better and normally I don’t even rate lin so much higher. Gong jun just feel so lightweight to me.
For Gong Jun’s sake I hope this is true. This is so much better than becoming a certain supporting actor’s stepping stone in Tales of Dark River

How does she need money? She is executive producer on her current airing drama. Executive producers have $$$, otherwise they ain’t producing a drama.
@neen I don’t agree with Jessica, but taking up extra positions in a drama can enable an actor/actress to overcome the salary limit and let them receive an extra portion of salary from investors’ money.

ZLY has no qualification to be a producer.
A producer wears many hats. Even without any skill, at the very minimum, a producer must bear responsibilities and consequences.
ZLY was caught buying too much hot searches about her AFA award, causing nobody to even know Jiang Qin Qin won the Best Actress AFA award while ZLY only won a smaller prize. She performed very bad at the AFA ceremony, and bought more hot searches saying they bullied her. She wanted the interviewers to ask the questions she scripted for them, but they didn’t. Charlene Choi was at the event and got interviewed much more. She also wanted the first row in C-position, but they put her at the very back. All these hot searches made her lost face, so she blamed the “Shen Li crew” for buying those hot searches for her to promote The Legend of Shen Li. As if people don’t know she’s in charge of Shen Li.
Plus, she purposely gave Jackie Li a high salary, then brag how she is humble to take little money while Jackie has little scenes and taking so much money. Then we have Wang Ziwei who played her maid Xiao Tao from Minglan, won more praises for her acting skills, causing ZLY to accuse her along with Han Ye, that they slept with FSF. ZLY pretends to give WZW another chance, making her play Xiao Tao again in Shen Li, and WZW comes out to explain she is very grateful for the role. Even Yu Zheng is not as disgusting as that.
@neen Not really, dramas works a different way in C-ent. I don’t have anything to say about reputation and all, but currently only executive producers for movies in C-ent need to have $$$ themselves.

Successful in terms of advertisement, marketing, business related.
Unsuccessful in terms of high quality content, and good reviews through words of mouths.
Compare with In Blossom, they dropped without 0 advertisement and marketing, and they still got lots of viewers. The business aspect didn’t do so bad, it’s why the station treated them S+ when they are a low budget production.
Viewers putting in good words are also going up everyday.
Shen Li makes the station very happy, even though the show is completely garbage and looks nothing S+, the high traffic they got from ZLY’s marketing is very tempting. They don’t care how fake her fans are being online, if someone (ZLY) is willing to lose money that way to trade for attention, the station is willing to lie with her Shen Li is their best and most successful show.
whatever happens or not with the casting, that poster up there is beautiful. 10/10 for the design team on that one!
I really enjoy TLOS. I guess there are lots of people like me. Asides from the skin smoothing, the show is really good. Love the story, character dynamics and pacing. That’s just my opinion.
