Oooh this sounds interesting, and also reminds me that I still need to find time to watch C-drama Reset. Bai Jing Ting and Zhou Ye are in talks for a C-drama titled Give Me Five (Chinese title 逆时侦查组 Reverse Time Detective Squad) that is a time loop story hence it reminds everyone of Reset which was a big hit for Bai Jing Ting’s career. Unlike Reset which is where the two leads are trying to uncover the reason for their time loop and the mastermind, in Give Me Five the leads use the time loop to try and solve crimes.
That sounds promising!
I like Bai Jing Ting, though I must admit that back when I watched Reset I was hardly if at all impressed by him; to me he felt like the support actor to Zhao Jinmai’s lead role. Also, he reminded me of my husband 20 years ago – we always have a good laugh every time BJT is at a event wearing whatever designer and we get to say silly stuff like “oh, here’s what you’d look like if you could afford Armani back then”😆
She can’t act at all so good luck to him if she is his FL.
I need to feed them some hamburgers And milkshakes.

Zhou Ye and Zhang Jingyi are two liuliang actresses who debuted with quite good resources because of their management. ZJY is good although I haven’t had a wow moment with her, Zhou Ye is just so bland on camera. I don’t know how to explain it she is super pretty I just don’t connect to her characters.
Don’t think they are liuliangs. Or at least they don’t have enough fans to be. Both are managed by film actors like Li Bingbing and Chen Kun/Zhou Xun and seems to be walking the movie + drama path compared to liuliangs who alternate between costume/xianxias and modern romance.
Same here I used to think Zhou Ye is prettier but after watching Blossoms in Adversity this year, I like Zhang Jingyi better. Zhou Ye honestly seems bland infront of camera. Not to say I dislike Zhou Ye, I’ll still check out her general drama when its released.
ZY and ZJY are incomparable. One can’t act and just relies on her looks with backing. The other one has both acting chops and visuals although has a strong agency behind her too.
Zhou ye’s acting always feels more green. Like she needs more room to grow. The only drama I felt her acting was so good was scent of time but the ending of that drama was just so horribly executed that it felt like the whole drama was wasted. She does feel like an empty vase in her other projects. Zjy is a hit and miss. Some projects she shines and others feels so rushed in her acting that it falls flat. They both have time to grow though. Hopefully their next projects stretch their acting in a good way.
IMO, Zhou Ye ans Zhang Jing Yi looks so similar, like 2 peas in a pod, but it is interesting to note that they give off very different vibes. ZJY always have this serious, sensible, goodie-two-shoes vibes, while ZY is more spunky, fun, bubbly.
I have to say I find ZJY rather boring, I can watch most of ZY dramas, but for ZJY, it will depend on her other casts.
I first saw Zhou Ye in WORD OF HONOR and thought she was super pretty but also thought her character was annoying. Then I followed her drama in BACK FROM THE BRINK and still think she’s super pretty but not charismatic. She doesn’t have a screen presence that draws you in and want you to continue watching them.
ZY looks sickly skinny in this photo. Her heavy makeup doesn’t help. Is that the kind of beauty C fans appreciate….starving slimming?
If u ask me, yes, which is awful because these stars are not fat in the first place
They really prefer super skinny people and then these actresses pretend they are big eaters when they survive on Chinese medicine packages they are always drinking.
I’m not sure why some people are dissing her as bland and bad acting. I’m head scratching cause I’ve seen worse. I don’t know what to say but to disagree cause she’s got potential. She’s got very popular from Back to the Brink where I first noticed her, I felt she basically carrying that drama and got hooked cause of her strong portrayal of her character. The best of all is that she is not overexposed like others and she is quite selective in her next projects cause aside from the Female General that was filmed awhile ago, she doesn’t have any other series lined up until now. Excited to see her on screen again.
It the preceptiond we have of the c ent young actors in general, personally I think most of them are not bad at all, decent enough to watch their shows and they do have a lot of potential but I feel it their shows that lack a lot because of their censorship and because of the division in their entertainment has idol and suppose serious dramas, they don’t get to have script that stretch their acting skills in the first. Imagine if they were like koreans that identify every project as the same nothing like idol or serious drama where every actor get to play the characters thwy are offered and the differences is in the genre, I believe the young actors will pick some lessons from the veterans when they all have opportunities for any project.
Cos she was waiting for a Zheng Xiaolong drama which ended up pushing back its schedule. Its called Red Dance Shoes. Guess she’s gonna take this while waiting for the other drama to complete its pre-production.
@Angel
Not a Zheng Xiaolong drama. It’s his production company but he isn’t involved in the drama.
