Period C-drama Blossom with Meng Zi Yi and Li Yun Rui Premieres Positive Critic Reviews and Audience Reception
So November had the surprise hit with Love Game with Eastern Fantasy and now December is off to one potential hit with period C-drama Blossom, and I’ve heard Brocade Odyssey is also getting better as well so at least not a flop. Blossom stars Meng Zi Yi and Li Yun Rui in a plotting and revenge and second chance plot adapted from the same name novel. It’s reportedly well directed, well acted, and the story is very interesting, so critics have given it good reviews and even better audience feedback is also predominately positive. It still doesn’t interest me but go check it out if you’re looking for a good drama.
Up to ep 5 and I am hooked this is as entertaining as the Double and Love game but more grounded and it looks so good. Am I crazy but from certain angles the male lead looks a little like Takeshi Kaneshiro lol.
Definitely a dark horse… I enjoyed ep1 alot.

Makes me want to read the novel. So far best drama of the year to me.
This is one of the rare cases when the drama is better than the novel. They actually managed to most of the important points, develop them and keep everything coherent and grounded in reality. As for the novel, it drags too much (over 500 chapters for what?) and the FL is quite Mary Sue at some points. If you want to see a drama that pretty much ruined the original material, that’s The Double. Entertaining, but has nothing to do with the novel, especially the Duke’s character.
“Blossom” is on its way to become a hit definitely while “Brocade odyssey” tanked (see those yunhe data). “We are criminal police” is doing insane numbers on Yunhe as well

I’m on ep16. Director and scriptwriter did excellent job. Well paced, very enjoyable. Maybe it will be the one of the best drama of year. It’s better then Double.
