I was already interested in upcoming tvN rom-come Love Next Door (Korean title Mom’s Best Friend’s Son) when it was announced with Jung Hae In as the male lead in his first rom-com. Everything since has been adding on more reasons to be excited for this drama especially with Jung So Min as the female lead. The character posters are … Continue reading →
The promos are starting for the next tvN Mon-Tues drama No Love No Gain which premieres at the end of August. Starring Shin Mina and Kim Young Dae, it’s the story of a very penny pinching who keeps track of relationships in money saved or spent until she needs to recruit a fake groom to net a promotion at work. … Continue reading →
The casting is moving fast for the K-drama Confidence Man KR, adapted from the popular J-dorama and movie franchise Confidence Man JP. This weekend there is news that veteran Park Hee Soon and the always excellent supporting actor Joo Jong Hyuk has joined the drama cast. This is a quirky drama and a lot of in-drama acting as in the … Continue reading →
A new casting brings together two OG classic SM era K-pop members turned actors with blast from the past feels. Taecyeon and Seohyun are going to star in the K-drama adaptation of the popular webtoon First Night with the Duke, which is set in European period times but for the drama will be set in the Joseon era. So award winning K-actress Park Eun Bin has been inked for her next drama for some time now but now her male lead has floated to the surface. Cha Eun Woo has been offered the role and his agency says he’s considering but I can’t see how he would pass on this. The drama is called The Wonder Fools (original … Continue reading →
I don’t know how K-actress Park Min Young keeps managing to land promising dramas in recent years where there has been fewer and fewer of them. Earlier this year she delivered the first big K-drama of 2024 with Marry My Husband and then she took a few months off and looks to be coming back soon. She’s been offered the … Continue reading →
A new SBS drama will be adapted from the French Le Mante and uses the same title of Mantis. The leads have now been confirmed as veteran actress Go Hyun Jung and young leading man Jang Dong Yoon, this time playing an estranged mother-son with a very dark history. On the same week a software update caused global travel chaos, this news feels like a blip but for us K-drama watchers it’s rather concerning. Cable network tvN and its streaming arm TVING announced this weekend that it has been hacked, the network name was changed to Ripple and the content is a mess on the platforms. Videos of recent … Continue reading →
I feel like the wait for Serendipity’s Embrace (Korean title Is It Coincidence) has been as long as the two lead’s second chance romance in the drama. The promos started in late May and we’re not two months later but thankfully the drama arrives in mere days on July 22nd. Leads Kim So Hyun and Chae Jong Hyeob are featured … Continue reading →
There is a new K-drama on a quick rise to popularity and it’s one I initially didn’t have much interest in but whenever I hear something is legit good it’s always worth checking out. SBS premiered Good Partner with Jang Nara and Nam Ji Hyun last week and since then the drama has increased in ratings and got past the … Continue reading →
I like how the first teaser for upcoming tvN drama Love Next Door shows the leads just growing up together in a very lowkey way. Jung Hae In and Jung So Min are coming to the small screen next month on August 17th and we should all be so grateful to have a rom-com on the way especially when there … Continue reading →
So I’ve been dum-dum-hum-de-dum-ing along expecting word of when space romance big budget K-drama When the Stars Gossip (Ask the Star) with Gong Hyo Jin and Lee Min Ho was going to get a confirmed airing date on tvN. The drama has finished filming over a year ago with principal production between April 2022 to January 2023. Now it’s become … Continue reading →
I haven’t watched a weekend K-drama in years but will always remember fondly the heydays when there was always a chance to chance upon a good one. Not that the weekend dramas in recent years weren’t good but there seems to be a lack of excitement and buzz around any to make it worth checking out. Two bigger names will … Continue reading →
