Absolute Darling Releases Official Stills of the First Meeting Between the Lady and Her Robot Boyfriend

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

After luxuriating in two back-to-back awesome TW-dramas this year, I sometimes forgot how much TW-productions love to sensationalize media-worthy nuggets of promotional material. GTV released a batch of official stills from its filming of Absolute Darling, starring Jiro Wang and Gu Hye Sun. Why oh why am I not surprised that the stills are all of the money-making scene when … Continue reading →

Man, if this drama makes me end up sick of bread imma going to be pretty PO’d. Two more teaser trailers for Love Keeps Going (which is the official English title for the TW-drama Mei Le, Go) have been released. I’ve translated the voiceovers to try and understand what this drama will be about. I think the colors of the drama look quite … Continue reading →

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

This is it, folks. I’m officially sold. Do you accept credit cards, oh production of Material Queen? While the more I watch the first trailer the more I love the trailer … Continue reading →

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

The Taiwan airing of Sunny Happiness on CTV is wrapping up in two weeks, and it’s successor drama Mei Le, Go (though it looks like the English title may be Love Keeps Going) is ramping up for its premiere. Okay, I’m just never going to concur with the decision to air one Mike He drama right after another Mike He … Continue reading →

Material Queen Releases Official Stills and Second Trailer

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

I can’t deny that I am extremely curious about Material Queen, the upcoming TW-drama starring Vanness Wu and Lynn Xiong, which was filmed on location in Paris, styled by Patricia Fields, and helmed by the PD who directed the unbelievably beautiful Autumn’s Concerto. While the story doesn’t appeal to me right off the bat (hur, what do I know about … Continue reading →

First Teaser Trailer for Mei Le, Go with Mike He and Cyndi Wang

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Looks like GTV is ramping up the publicity for Mike He and Cyndi Wang‘s Mei Le, Go. I can’t say I’m excited, but I’m game for the drama potentially being good. After watching the teaser, I find that highly unlikely to happen. What is with the recent spate of random and weird drama previews? This teaser convinces me that (1) … Continue reading →

Well, I guess there goes the live-shoot component of this drama, heh. I’m thrilled it’s wrapped because this means there will be no chance the network will request an extension to milk it’s sure … Continue reading →

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

You can either take this as a cute cross-promotion, or a sign that Mei Le, Go, the completed-filming TW-drama with Mike He and Cyndi Wang has just gotten the stamp of approval and greenlight from CTV. There have been conflicting reports on which drama will take over the Sunny Happiness timeslot at the end of May (SH has 3 more episodes … Continue reading →

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Man, I ought to get an award for my sleuthing. Remember how I told everyone that TW-drama Absolute Darling with Gu Hye Sun had secretly started filming last week? Well, GTV confirmed the news today in a small press conference, and trotted out lead actors Gu Hye Sun and, no surprise here, Jiro Wang.

First Look at the Leads on the Set of Extravagant Challenge

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Taiwan is the place to be right now, IMO, with four different idol dramas concurrently filming that I’m really looking forward to. One of them being Extravagant Challenge with Super Junior’s Lee Donghae and Choi Siwon paired with Ivy Chen in the drama-adaptation of the popular manga Skip Beat. Ivy was photographed wearing a chicken suit yesterday on the set with … Continue reading →

I’m curious as to why GTV is so secretive about confirming the news, but long-in-development TW-drama Absolute Darling started filming yesterday, according to various Weibo updates from actors working on the drama. Lead actress Gu Hye Sun has been in Taiwan since last week, which further confirms the news. As for which actor is stepping in for departed Wu Zun? … Continue reading →
