Jerry Yan may be one of the most A-list of Taiwanese actors, but he’s notoriously picky with his projects so he doesn’t have as many completed works under his belt compared to some of his contemporaries. For the last two years it’s been a game of Where’s Jerry for the TW-media. Since filming Down With Love with Ella two years … Continue reading →
GUH. *Incoherent spazzing* I need. I want. I must have. CTS released a 25-minute preview for the upcoming TW-drama Material Queen, starring Vanness Wu and Lynn Xiong. I watched it with stars in my eyes, totally entranced by the story and the indescribably beautiful cinematography. MQ is helmed by the PD who did one of the prettiest TW-dramas in the … Continue reading →
So I checked out episode one of Love Keeps Going which premiered last Sunday with a respectable 1.84, which is about what its predecessor drama Sunny Happiness averaged during its run. I kept my expectations low and my biases in check just to see if the story and execution worked for me. My verdict is this – Love Keeps Going better … Continue reading →
Taiwan news reports are confirming that TTV’s in development big-budget cultural rom-com (it’s being compare to the style and sophistication of Drunken to Love You) called Xiao Xian’s Beautiful Life has finally cast its two leads. I initially heard about this project when it was first attached to Ariel Lin and then Chen Qiao En, with the male lead always rumored to … Continue reading →
After a tumultuous early part of the year, when Wu Zun changed management agencies and rumors abounded that Fahrenheit was disbanding, looks the boys have put it all behind them and have been busy with a slew of promotional activities together in the last two months. Everyone has their individual projects – Zun is promoting the movie Da Wu Sheng with … Continue reading →
This weekend sees the premiere of a new Sunday night TW-idol drama – Love Keeps Going with Mike He and Cyndi Wang, which is the successor drama to the just completed airing Sunny Happiness with Janine Chang and also Mike He. Mike and Cyndi have been making the promotional rounds all week (see above), and wherever they go, a loaf … Continue reading →
I like to think my Feng Feng is not being forced to do this project by his Anhui management team, and that he actually wants to do it. But Anhui Television owes me if it turns out to be a chemistry-less mismatch. My Li Yi Feng is currently in Taiwan doing costume fittings and pre-production work for Happy Michelin Kitchen (幸福三顆星), … Continue reading →
With the recent confirmation that Park Shin Hye‘s TW-drama Hayate the Combat Butler, co-starring George Hu and Tia Li, was getting a premiere date of June 19th on FTV, I’ve been wondering when the promotional materials would start trickling out. I need wait no more – the first three teaser trailers have been released. Yes, I can confirm that Shin … Continue reading →
We’re just two and a half weeks away from the premiere of the TW-drama Material Queen, and this is one drama where every single promo, still, and trailer gets me more excited about it, where initially I had zero interest. Unlike in Autumn’s Concerto, lead actor Vanness Wu gets to showcase his singer roots and grew-up-in-the-US crossover appeal by singing the theme … Continue reading →
The final episode of Taiwan’s airing of Sunny Happiness is this Sunday night. I haven’t been keeping up with the TW-airing of SH since I’ve watched the darn drama three times now. I know there were cut scenes from the China airing that were added back for the TW-airing, most notably the entire wedding night scene, but now its been … Continue reading →
If May was K-drama overload month, then June looks to be TW-drama’s turn to release a batch of new offerings I’ve been keeping an eye on. I’ve already posted about Material Queen premiering on June 17th and Love Keeps Going premiering on June 4th. Now it’s finally been confirmed that Hayate the Combat Butler will be airing on June 19th … Continue reading →
After a month of filming, GTV finally released the first official stills of Ariel Lin and Bolin Chen in the upcoming TW-drama In Time With You. This has been a very low-key production for various reasons, one of which has to be all the media swarming over to currrently filming Extravagant Challenge. The low-key vibe suits everyone at ITWY just fine, as sometimes … Continue reading →
Seriously, if these two people got any cuter as a couple I might actually fursplode into a real Koala simply by staring at them, the way Jacob goes all wolfy in the novels-which-shant-be-named. Rainie Yang and Joseph Chang attended a Drunken to Love You fan meeting at Taipei’s Mitsukoshi department store this weekend, showing up wearing a couple’s outfit, which … Continue reading →
