I think this might be it – after multiple potential airing dates associated with the completed TW-drama Hayate the Combat Butler, yesterday lead actor George Hu‘s management company Polyland posted on its Weibo a picture of George in the recording studio doing voice work for Hayate (see picture below), with the accompanying caption that Hayate is scheduled to air on GTV … Continue reading →
For those of you addicted to Drunken to Love You, I’m here to tell you that the next few months is going to be lots of fun. Whenever there is a runaway drama hit in TW, if it’s a live-shot drama, the media goes berserk and the cast and crew have tons of fun filming and giving ridiculous interviews all … Continue reading →
Drunken to Love You held a university viewing party/press conference yesterday, and lead actors Rainie Yang and Joseph Chang took time out of their busy filming schedule to attend the event. What’s notable was that an extended video clip was shown of upcoming scenes from the drama, including a sneak peak at one very steamy bed scene to come. Rainie … Continue reading →
The amount of news overdrive coming out of Taiwan entertainment is causing me to have some slight blurry vision from reading too much newsprint. Luckily, a look at my goddess Ariel Lin makes my eyes refocus again. GTV‘s upcoming drama In Time With You starring Ariel and Bolin Chen commenced production this week, and I’m eager for the first stills to … Continue reading →
Can’t say I’m surprised by this news – Wu Zun has officially dropped Absolute Darling, the TW-drama adaptation of the manga Zettai Kareshi, co-starring Gu Hye Sun. Apparently GTV is furious, but Wu Zun’s publicist lays the blame on the repeated delays by GTV to start production, as well as a consideration that Wu Zun wasn’t right for the role … Continue reading →
Newsflash – Rainie Yang and Joseph Chang’s Drunken to Love You episode 1 premiered at a 2.98 ratings (comparatively, Sunny Happiness has been the ratings champion for 8 weeks straight averaging only about 1.60 in ratings). I think we have a new crack TW-mania drama, folks – but can it break Fated to Love You‘s 10.91 all-time ratings high? With … Continue reading →
Sunny Happiness, currently the #1 Sunday night TW-drama, isn’t about to take its rating’s crown for granted. Mike He and Janine Chang attended a Sunny Happiness fan meeting yesterday, which coincidentally was the night before the premiere of Drunken to Love You. When asked if he was worried about the upcoming competition, Mike pooh-poohed any such worry, saying that DTLY … Continue reading →
Oh man, I don’t know how I’m going to restrain myself until this drama airs the proper version I want to watch. The Other Shore 1945 with Vic Zhou and Janine Chang released two more trailers, and I’ve translated all the dialogue below the video. Word is that the drama will air in late May in China, and early July … Continue reading →
In preparation for this weekend’s premiere of the TW-drama Drunken to Love You, I hereby bring the detailed character synopsis for the main cast, and well as the plot outline (it’s a three-month marriage contract, yo!). It’s not terribly spoilery, especially since as a live-filmed drama I suspect the script for DTLY remains subject to change depending on how well received … Continue reading →
It’s finally here! This coming Sunday SETTV will premiere Drunken to Love You with Rainie Yang, Joseph Chang, Tiffany Hsu, and Kingone Wang, and the entire cast was trotted out for the obligatory press conference yesterday. I don’t know if everyone swallowed pretty pills, or I’m wearing a pair of rose-tinted glasses, but wow does the main cast look great, … Continue reading →
This post is a complete and utter labor of love. The amount of time it took me to collect all the just released character synopsis and trailers, and then translate it all, stems purely from my love for Vic Zhou and Taiwanese-Chinese history. Vic’s upcoming epic period drama The Other Shore 1945 (彼岸1945, and formerly called Coming Home) wrapped filming in … Continue reading →
I had the oddest drama viewing line-up this past weekend – on one hand I marathoned 8 episodes of President and finished that baby up (without a doubt the best drama so far in 2011), on the other hand I watched the final episode of the TW-drama Channel X (國民英雄) which aired this weekend, and with it ending 5 months … Continue reading →
Anhui Television announced today that the third drama in its Happy Trilogy (the first being Happy and Love Forever, and the second being Sunny Happiness) has finally cast its two leads. All I know is that my rumor sources are dead on this time, the leads for the tentatively titled Happy Michelin Kitchen (幸福三顆星) is in fact Cheryl Yang and Blue Lan. … Continue reading →
